im double posting this here, in case some of you dont see it in the "things you are stoked on" thread:

https://www.westcoastimaging.com/wci/page/services/more/oldsales/2008fallscan.htm

matze, loophole, ghostbusters, whoever else shoots medium format:  you ought to try sending out one or two favourite shots to see just how much info pro scans at this place can lift from a piece of film.  the quality is incredible, even compared to the top-of-the-line flatbed scanner your local pro lab is probably using.   im figuring that 600mb of info off a piece of 6x7 will let me print out at 30x24 inches without a single trace of pixelation...   which means you could safely print up to 40 inches wide because no one will stand so close as to notice any little flaws at that size.

stoked that fuji and cosina are going to be making this new folding medium format camera.  it will shoot both 6x6 and 6x7 with 120 or 220 film.  it will be marketed as the fuji gf670 in japan and as the voigtlander bessa 667 in the rest of the world.   just so sweet, no one has made a folding MF camera since the 1980s

that's rad!  any idea how much i'm going to spend on one?

this was my first camera.  i got it as a free gift with the purchase of three or more books, which i bought to get the camera.

it's smaller than the film it uses, which is 110 film.  i've been told by many people at different camera stores that 110 film is no longer made by any company.  of course, wal-mart sells it.

Bought a Canon Pellax about a month ago to relearn how to shoot 35mm. These are some of the first shots I've gotten back.

fucking so complicated trying to adjust gold and orangey colours in photoshop...     even though i have the slide right in front of me, no amount of fidgeting gets close to capturing the colours accurately.  inner rings should be a lot more orange / red, and the outer rings should be less white and more gold / yellow...

havent had the film i put thru the hassy developed yet.  i shot three rolls, but with the last roll (which i put some effort into) i didnt wind the film correctly, and when i opened up the back i exposed all the film.

the guy i swapped with is totally gunning for a mamiya 7 now...   says he will probably sell his hassy to fund it.

-----------------

so i got my scans back from WCI today.   this is an unedited 100% crop from a 650mb scan of an image i posted before, but that i had scanned at home...

okay, here are two pics from the hassy that i scanned this morning.   the images are quite nice, but i dont think i would switch from a rangefinder...   i found looking down to be a bit of a hassle, especially because the film magazine gets in the way.   maybe if the camera had had a strap idve been more comfortable.

haha!   i had another chance to shoot it again today, but passed...   between the tittering girls and the cars pulling in one-two right after each other, that was kind of a perfect "small town encounter"
