Where did you take these?

The first two were taken in a Orthodox Church turned into a Somali immigrants centre where they organize lunch cookings, english lessons and sawing lessons and the third one in another church turned into a venue where they had most of the differents Rochester communities create a show to give an insight about their culture. I've been doing a "social reportage" class on the different communities of immigrants in Rochester with a focus on Nepalese and Buthanese communities. The exhibition opens this Saturday. It was a great experience and I will probably continue even now that the class is over.

this thread is always so inspiring!

Cadillac, those are some powerful images right there.  Amazing work.

Here are some images I've gotten lately:

and also, here's a video I just finished a few days ago.  It's about a couple friends of mine and their little company they have making leather and canvas goods.

Thanks, dude! It's amazing being out there, documenting people fighting for a change.

Really rad video by the way. Your stuff always reminds me how much I want to start shooting video. When I got my Mark III, one of the deciding factors was its ability to shoot video, but I still haven't taken advantage of it. Maybe one day.

I usually shoot with the 5d Mark III, and the three lenses I use the most are the 24-105, 50mm 1.4 and the Tokina 11-16 (although on the full frame 5d it only works open to 16mm).

So the one with the dog is the Tokina I assume? I don't know why but I am having a hard time justifying getting the Canon 16-35mm L. I need a wider lens since I have a 24mm and a 50mm but I heard Canon might make a new wide angle that somewhat competes with the Nikon 12-24mm. I am sure it will be super expensive but I don't want to buy a lens till it comes out.

yeah it's to bad Canon doesn't make a better wide lens built for the full frame.    I've heard really good things about the 16-35mm.  I like the tokina it's definitely not near as sharp as canon lenses.  And yes, the dog shot was with the tokina :)

Here's a few from my most recent roll. Not that special or anything, but I think they're ok. It was my first time shooting skateboarding too. I'm excited to take a photography class at my community college next semester though!

True, but medium format and high end cameras are both really nice things. Who wouldn't want to use that kind of stuff? Hercules, if it makes you feel any better, I mostly shoot with cameras that are worth less than 50 bucks with film that costs less than 3 bucks a roll because that's all I can afford.

Great stuff in the past few posts. I really love the container shot and the medium format shot of the barn in the snow.

As cliche as it is, cameras are only as good as the photographer holding them. I know a lot of jackasses who own some premium shit, but shoot like they're holding disposable cameras (which are cool, don't get me wrong). On the other hand, I know a lot of photographers who are absolutely killing on iPhones. This thread is a great example of the amazing stuff you can do with all types of mediums.

Love the one with the kid jumping Cadillac ! And the legs too.
Thank you! I'm very surprised I even got it. I was mid-conversation with another street photographer when I, by chance, turned around to make a comment on everything going on that day. Saw the kid getting ready to jump and just shot. Didn't really get to focus, but I'm not too bummed he's a tad out of foucs.

Anyway, love the work and site. Squarespace is the shit. I did my website through them too.
