GM's dropping a new electric car for the 2010 model year, well a plug-in hybrid anyway. They're claiming a 600+ mile range, which would seriously outshine the EV-1:

I really think they should continue to pursue hydrogen as a fuel source. Water is a great idea as well; salt water would be the ultimate if it's even possible.

I'm not really knowledgeable on this subject, but I think I heard that it costs way more than what it's worth to do this.

They should find a cheap way soon.

hydrogen would be the best way it's basically the only proper clean and renewable resource, and you can fly a plane on hydrogen you can't fly a plane on electricity.
