This incredibly fun bank spot I found in the Philippines. It was so brutally hot out I got all Gershon Mosely on it...

and my girl says, verbatim: "Wooowwwww, for you it's crazy like!"

She's definitely a keeper.

Skated a spot at a mental hospital this weekend, and was asked by security to leave the property.

My mom got me a sweet camping hammock for my birthday. Way lighter than the tent I've been using. Stoked.

Going to see Th' Legendary Shack Shakers tonight. Haven't seen them play in a long time. Hopefully they're as good as I remember.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

The Irish fans at Euro 2012. Lost against Spain with 4-0 but kept on singing. Thousands of Irish(wo)men singing their heart out. Awesome.

won a familia board from this series (the 8.1 camel one) in a grey magazine contest! stoked!!! never really won anything in a competition like that so really hyped. i'll be sure to post a photo when it comes in the post:

skating is all about choosing your outfit very deliberately, going out in public. looking super sick. and then riding your board a little bit

I think this plumbing issue we've been having at my place for the past couple weeks has finally been resolved and was much easier and cheaper than expected. I also haven't been having any pain in my calf/knee/thigh since I stopped skating about a month ago and it's not sensitive to touch anymore so I think I'm going to try and hit up the skatepark for the first time in awhile and see how it goes. Small victories.

Stoked on the new band I'm starting with a few friends. Hope to have band practice soon. Also learning to make pizza from my cousin!

My landlady called a little while back to tell my housemates and I we're getting evicted because she's selling the house.  I live in a sick house 2 blocks from the beach with cheap rent in a good neighborhood, with dope roommates, and a front and back yard with a hot tub and plenty of parking.  Needless to say I was bummed.  A month or so later she hit us up telling us we don't have to move because she doesn't need to sell anymore.  So stoked, I feel like I appreciate where I live so much more now.

My torn ACL has healed up really well, which is really rare without surgery.  Just in time to be hopefully 100% for most of the summer, and my local shop just built an amazing miniramp in the back.

Not trying to scare you, but be really careful with that. I'm sure your doctor has told you all about it, but ACL's are super tender without the surgery. One guy I know blew his out a second time when he misstepped off a sidewalk.

I appreciate the warning - I definitely feel you on that.  I've been worried so often recently about this thing bothering me for the rest of my life and eventually just becoming arthritic, I almost want to tear it again so that I can just get the fucking surgery and get a completely new ACL and be done with it instead of having half of an ACL with a bunch of scar tissue holding it together for the rest of my life.  I understand that probably sounds a little crazy.  I'm not actually trying to tear my ACL again, but being too cautious while skating is how I fucked myself up to begin with.

Had a really good session last night. Got all flippy with it, which for me, is super rare (sadly, the sesh ended in both me and Codithou complaining of knee pain, though his is far worse than mine)
some of the locals let me hit some tree, which was just swell cause I haven't smoked in almost a week, so one was JUST the right amount.

Started a couple new mini cruiser graphics this morning, hopefully will have something to show later in the DIY thread

I thought I was in a financial pickle coming towards the end of this month, but my Mom, who is our family business' accountant, gave me a loan against my tax return so I won't be fucked for bills AND having money for this trip back east im going on soon. Huge fucking relief (even though I'm technically loosing like 50 bucks in interest in the deal, but I need the money now more than later)

And whatever weird up and down waves of depression I was having for a couple weeks there seems to have evened itself out.

Went kayaking on the Russian River in Sonoma County, CA and cruised around and checked out little towns in the area today. Hard to believe there are such beautiful places so close to the urban wasteland I live in.
