Alan - Yes, its a bs 180 over the hard way. He did a bs flip over the hard way 2 days after deadline of the mag too.. I gotta hold on to that until next issue i guess, but that is seriously fucked haha!
Hercules - Please do! The more critisism the better. I actually never thought of removing the stickers, but I think its because i try to use photoshop as little as possible, I dont like changing the photo too much. But you are right, it actually would have helped clean it up a bit without the red there. Damn haha, should have seen that!
But having an independent mag is all about you just doing it. Get together 5-10 of the right people, come up with some good articles that might go a bit outside of skateboarding. We had architecture and skateboarding as focus in this issue. The last one was DIY (not just spots, but dealing with the city councils fighting for new parks and stuff like that), and the one before was work and skateboarding, like what jobs do the best skaters in the country actually have, and how jobs in skateboarding works and stuff. We have some of these articles that could be interesting to read even though you might not skate. And the format is a little special, but it suits perfect for like a coffee table type book/mag.
The hard thing is of course to get the money in to actually print the thing. We have a website too, from which we post news, some pictures and do some videoes from local arrangements and stuff, not a lot of original content but some. We sell adverts on there, and its basically free to run, so the money from there goes to the mag as well, and then we sell ads in the mag rather cheap. We usually make the budget without too many problems, but i dont know about the distribution/brand scene in Austria, but I could only imagine it being bigger than around here?
