風立ちぬ comes out on the 20th
http://kazetachinu.jp/

i really like ghibli films and this one seems like it isn't going to be a let down unlike some of the studios last few films (mononokehime was the last great ghibli film and sen to chihiro no kamikakushi was the last fairly decent ghibli film)

plus the theme song is a yumin song
ひこうき雲 荒井由実

p.s. sorry for nerding out

This looks really cool, the planes of WWII are so interesting.

Had a sick session today on this guy I just mets mini ramp.

fun fact, Jiro's voice actor is the creator of the Evangelion series.  I'm definitely stoked on this.  The art that's out so far looks great.

I've seen it a bunch of times but I'm blunted and it's always good. Watching Princess Mononoke right now.

ah probably my 2nd favorite after nausicca.  I have both on my computer already.
Do you prefer it in English?  I still can't watch things unless it's in their original language, especially Japanese/Chinese.

I much prefer subtitles. Wish I knew Japanese since I love the culture, but I'd rather hear it the way it was made. Everytime someone tells me they can't stand movies with subtitles that's an automatic mark in the dumbass book for them.

my thoughts exactly.  lots of subtleties of the language just go away with dubs and since the voice acting is directed by a different person, the vision is a bit different too.

yep going to go watch it during the week with my girlfirend... I'm guessing some of the themes are going to be difficult for me to understand in Japanese but I'm going to give it my best shot

i also don't like to watch movies that aren't in their original language (dubs normally ruin it for me)... that being said I did watch Monsters University in Japanese the other day the voices were strange but the translation/script was fine, still going to watch it again in English when it's released on DVD/Blueray (also will have to watch kazetachinu with japanese subs too)

Did a "body jar" today, I put it in quotes cause I technically did it but it sucked. Was pretty much a nosegrab tailstall but I haven't done a new trick in fucking ages so I let out a yell of happiness and people looked at me like I was regular, love that shit.

So he's done with the Colorado River? I don't keep track of those things.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

i wouldn't say it if i wasn't sure, but it was def him.  i was on the 10 freeway headed to santa monica.  he was lane splitting.  riding some harley with ape hangers and had a board strapped to the sissy bars with an Emerica sticker.  he was wearing his signature flannel that he always wears apparently.  it was definitely him.

wanted to catch up and give him a thumbs up or something but he was long gone

Ahhh lane splitting. When my dad lived in L.A. and before he sold his motorcycle he used to take me lane splitting on the freeway. Now that I'm older and understand what "safe" means it seems kind of sketch, but it was fun as hell back then.

On Friday I was promoted at my job so I'll be getting benefits as well as sick leave, paid vacation, etc.

Saturday I purchased my first car, which is a 2013 Civic... I fucking love it. I never would have imagined that my car would be something like it.

Later on Saturday I slept with an awesome girl I've been hanging out with recently after a considerable hiatus from the sac.

And in about five weeks I'll be starting my junior year of my undergrad.

Not a bad weekend if you ask me.
