my favorite spot to skate ever, the ground is tile, but rides perfect.
the up ledges are just high enough to be challenging to do any trick on
one side is a hill you can bomb
the view is awesome,
and theres like 10 other skatespots within a 5minute skate

pier 7 obviously pretty done now but is still sick there is lots of stuff in that area that is really fun
that spot at the bus station that is basically the new EMB is sick too but i dont know what its called

Where those two octagon stair things are? Every time I've been to SF there's always been crews skating the flat between those and between hordes of people).

They have a flea market thingy right there, too if it's what I'm thinking of.
[close]

YES thats exactly what im talking about, that is basically EMB now.

the island.
[close]
The island kind of sucks, its more of a good no bust meet up spot than anything.
Yeah. And now more than ever you have to dodge all the fixed gear ballerinas. Do they ever do anything more interesting than sit backwards on their handlebars and ride around in circles?
Like Daewon said: if skateboarding is a ten story building, Rodney is on eleventh floor.

I want to visit Barcelona next year (in August maybe). I gotta find a cheap place to stay though. Can you recommend any? ;D
[close]

Are you coming alone? If you don't, how many will you be and for how long?
[close]

I am going alone and plan to stay for a whole month. I am planning to spend like 300 Euros/month with at least gas and internet included.
[close]
I hope the €300 is for the rent ? Because eating and drinking in Barcelona for a month will cost you a shitload

Yup, 300 for the rent. I am aware about all the prices in Europe.

SF is one big skatespot, but pier 7 back in the day and third and army is still fun, even though the ledges are chunky now.
Fondo in Barcelona is a mindfuck of a skatespot, so much fun.
I live in China now and my city is a massive skatepark, so much marble to skate.

Dig it.  I started a website devoted to spots. Its mainly around LA but its all cool stuff that's off the grid and I make a point to actually skate there before I write about it.  Just got it going but the response has been very warm.  If you need a place to skate around Los Angeles or Hollywood  check it out:  www.caliskatespots.com

dust bowls outside of philly:

there's now a pretty fun cement quarter pipe where that wooden wallride thing is in those pictures. this is just the big section too, you can walk through the tunnel in the second picture and find a bunch of banks, ledges, curbs, etc. state troopers apparently come through occasionally and smash shit up, but i've been there numerous times and i've never been kicked out or seen any signs of police activity whatsoever.

basically, SO MUCH FUN

The sketchy pre-fab park in my hometown.  No one skates it so I'm always thankful when I see it's still up.  Solo seshes by the sea shore.

Foundation in atlanta was super fun while it was there. pretty nice understanding with the cops, fun locals, good times.

Emory in east atlanta has a bunch of good spots, too. plenty of ledges, sets and speed bumps that have like a tabletop to them, i.e. you can clear the flat. Bust factor pretty low, if you can show them a student ID they will be cool with you. Best thing about this school is the elevation change on campus. Lots of hills and lines for days!

never been to these spots but i want to:

shenzhen china wave spot. oh and also that brick gap in china that BA boardslides and Pfanner nollies. you know what im talking about

and this hubba which i think is somewhere in Germany. saw it in an old Puzzle a while back and it's always looked so nice and straightforward.

Some of the plaza in Montreal were probably some of the best shit I've ever skated. Square Victoria, the Olympic Stadium, Peace Park, if you like ledges then Montreal is the city for you.

1.) Ben Lomond Skate Park
Little basic park in the Santa Cruz mountains with a great bowl and my favorite funbox ever (bank-4'-5' flat-bank with a ledge on one side and rail on the other). I haven't found another that is as much fun, not small, not too big, and perfect for all kinds of tricks. It's perfect for high 360 flips and the only funbox I have been ever to successfully pop high nollie flips over. All others I go flying forward and my board goes backwards. I miss this place.
BEN LOMOND SESSION

2.) The Tenderloin (San Francisco)
Mellow hills, the bump on the west side of west side of Leavenworth/Golden Gate Ave that if you hit right can make you fly insanely fast down to Civiv Center Plaza where there's the fountain (gap, tons of great manny possibilities if you don't mind the 5' drop at the end, the Ramondetta Gap off the little ledge (I could never hit it right and make all the way across the bricks and over the 3 step), right by the infamous library, and a couple miles skating up Market to the DLXSF shop. Lots of good skating memories, but the Tenderloin is also where I scored my oxy before I cleaned my life up. Between skating and trying to sneak into the Carls Jr bathroom to smoke OC, the memories are not all great but there's so much to skate.

3.) Austin TX.
House park, Brushy Creek park, Round Rock park, downtown, the ditches. (image below is the hidden gem by my house. I've already mapped out where I want to build the manual pad, tombstone, and stick in a flat bar. With a little $ and some help it can happen, this place is awesome.
