Lol fuck. Of course we play Boston in the first round.

I fuckin hate Boston

Anyhow, at this point who's gonna take down this years giant, tampa bay???

Also, q is officially hired
[close]

I'm 100% down for that too!

I just wanna see really good playoff hockey. At the end of the day I hope the leafs surprise everyone,  but I'm thinking logically this wont happen lol

But the thing I love about playoff hockey, is all the sudden every fuckin series is fun to watch! Whether you lobe or hate the teams, it doesnt matter. Your gonna tune in

And in todays NHL, I'd love to see things spiced up.

Only team beating Tampa is Tampa.

Obviously, the playoff structure blows and the fact that the bruins have to play the leafs in the first round is horse shit. Anything can happen there but I think the bruins are a more complete team.

The San Jose versus Vegas series will be super exciting. I hope Martin jones steps it up like he usually does in the playoffs. If the bruins don’t win I want San Jose to win(get jumbo his cup) but I’m expecting Tampa to steam roll everyone

I'm still a firm believer the divisions should dissipate and the playoffs should be made by all the best teams in the league, not divisions.

Betting on a first round upset against Columbus.

Boston will absolutely wreck the Leafs' young stars, and Washington goes on to win the cup again. Although I'm rooting for Carolina and could see Caps fucking up against them

West is hard to think about, could maybe see Dallas taking it all the way to the finals
[close]

I’d love to see Columbus, Carolina, Nashville, or some other dark horse win. As long as it’s not the Penguins or Blues, I’m good.

I'm a Pens fan but would honestly be pretty into the Canes going all the way.

Caps are down Kempny. They already allow over 3 goals a game and without one of their better defenders I don’t see it

I'll never forget my meltdown when we lost to Boston in game 7 a few years ago. I still get flashbacks.

Gotta pick my bracket still. Would love to see Ovi win another cup. Calgary could be a contender too.

Kempny is a tough loss. At the same time, Caps are pretty deep on D, and Wilson is going to cause brain damage to at least one Lightning star, so it might even out.

Wouldn’t call a team that lets almost 3.5 goals in a game deep on defense. Pittsburgh got healthy at the right time I see a return to form from a pitt versus capitals series

Caps GAA is 3.02, Pens is 2.90, which is pretty close. The Caps actually allow fewer shots per game than the Penguins (31 to 33), and the Pens' save percentage is a little higher (.913 to .904), so I'm not convinced the Caps defense isn't deep, or isn't good, compared to a team like Pittsburgh. I hope you're right about that matchup though. Healthy Penguins can probably beat anyone.

Kessel seems to of woken up a bit in the last few games, if Malkin and Letang are on and Crosby is Crosby, they should be pretty tough to beat.

Some spicy game 1s! I still can’t get over how the Isles weren’t a bottom dweller this year, the Trotz effect.

Columbus and Tampa game was absolutely bonkers, Bob stood on his head.

Yep. Don’t blame them - they’re on the cusp of the playoffs and there’s no other coach that’s free right now that’s more capable of pushing them over the edge.

Plus, they’ve been making a big push to get Panarin and Q was his first coach in the US so I think they’re hoping that they can use him as a selling point.

Oh I totally understand why they did, plus Tallon built up the Hawks team with Q. I was really hoping the Flyers would be able to scoop him up, idk what the hell they’re gunna do behind the bench.

What skateboarders do you think would make good hockey players? My line-up:

Sewa Kroetkov - Hjalte Halberg - Gershon Mosely

         Austin Kanfoush - Greyson Fletcher

                            Sluggo

If he wasn’t tripping balls, Evan smith with a little muscle would be good.

Heath Kirchart probably wins for me though. Mentality, toughness alone he’d be wild out there

There's a prospect in the Kings' system that put out a part when he was young:
