I got stoked for Ovi seeing his reactions that whole game. Regardless of what team you root for you gotta respect the work he's put in.

j soy and his dumb argument:

here after winning stanley cup, they first announce and award him with the mvp trophy

then, they give him the cup

you may be right that he doesn’t need it to reassure that he’s one of the greatest to ever play .. but it sure as hell means a lot to him .. look at that face

Yeah....Ovi never makes that face.....it's not like he's a sedin or something.....

I just don't know when this became such a thing....oh he deserves it for working so hard!  It's sports man....

He's one of the greatest to ever do it and still probably the most complete player in the league. Well-deserved.

Whoa, ovie is an all time great, but he's far from well rounded. He plays well rounded at times, but not all the time.

He's a pure goal scorer with the added bonus of being physical.

He's a liability alot of times but he's great enough offensively to look past that.

He's no Steve yzerman or Mark messier, that's for certain

Yah....although that's what arguably this is all about....this year he did a lot more than just hang out at the hash marks....and was a more complete player than he ever has been....but I dunno about great passer!  Amazing on the PK!  Always hustles back!

He did have a great year and he did play a more well rounded game. Very nice to see.

Great that he's been hussling back too! But man he's horrible at changing. He'll change mid back check at least 10 times a game. But again, he's too good offensively to give a shit

Caps miss fplayoffs from their hangover

The Jets fail big time in the playoffs from the pressure, even though I love byfuglien

Habs and oilers both miss playoffs as well.

I could see Arizona in the playoffs, they have a relatively young core and have been taking the right steps the past couple years to become a competitive team

San Jose lost in game 6 in the finals 3 years ago and only got more assets since... wait, it's disrespectful to call Karlsson an asset - he is an entire team at times. So, the least bold pick is San Jose.

Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto will do way better than Ottowa and Montreal. I know that's not crazy to predict, but that hasn't been a common hierarchy for the Canadian teams.

Since the season starts in a few days, would anyone be down for a SLAP fantasy league? Can't say I've got too many friends who are into hockey like me.

Excited to see what the Leafs do this year. Getting JT is huge, but we could still use some defence.

Ottawa is a dumb, and Montreal is heading that way. San Jose is gonna be serious this year. Would like to see Nashville keep things up.

Gritty for league MVP.

Sorry bro, but I hope Tom Wilson is suspended for tonight's game. Don't need any of my guys getting injured in the season opener.

I actually like his effectiveness as a player, and goddamn despite the dirty hits in the playoffs he was monstrous and impactful.

I just get nervous when my team plays against certain players (Gudas, Wilson, Orpik, etc) as I don't wanna see anyone get injured. I'm sure you guys all feel that about Marchand.

The older I’ve gotten the less I like seeing people getting hurt and I find so much of the roughness unnecessary for the game to still be good. Just because a goon is on my team doesn’t mean I’m going to support their dirty play. Fuck Tom Wilson.

Same, I used to like the rough stuff much more pre CTE developements, and before former goons started dying off in numbers due to mental health issues.

Not saying that physicality should be removed entirely. Hockey should always be a physical sport, but the blatent disregard some players have when throwing certain hits is no bueno.
