haha, had to laugh at that. but i hate when bands get a bad rap from people because they're more popular now. makes die hard fans look like followers. frustrating.

anyway, so psyched on this. i hear theyre realeasing a box set of vinyl shit at somepoint?

whats with the name? i dont really have a set opinion on it but i just hope its not like, an electronic version of campfire songs done at the merriweather post pavilion or something.  are a lot of people sure that this is going to be the album that they were planning to release next year?

i hope deakin is on the album.

I'm pretty hyped about this...
Hopefully I'll get to see them when they tour UK in January.
I wonder if the new album will sound anything like Strawberry Jam,or if they've gone in a different direction again.
Either way I don't really mind, any AC material is good material to me.

its supposed to be a slower album. as gordon said they have already played lots of the songs live and you can watch them on youtube. its not really worth it because of the quality though.

 i hope it leaks

here are some of the better quality videos i found. so hyped. note that these are live versions so they take longer to get into the actual song, and there might be major changes to the drums or whatever as some of these are more than a year old.

flowers in her hair. apparently starts off the album. so good, very ballad like. i orgasm every time at 1:51:

summertime clothes. im thinking will be the single from this album:

lion in a coma:

brother sport. apparently this is closing out the album. a jam and a half. kind of a reggae/calypso flavor. so good:

this new cd coming is being called the most accessible album they've put out. you'll probably like it way more than their older shit. i'm a huge fan and still find their old stuff abrasive.

On some of those videos posted in this thread the comments say things like

"man this has got to be one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard. "

"the lyrics right from 1:50 to "to hold you in time" are practically the most beautiful lines ever written "

"his is perhaps the prettiest song they have ever made, apart from #1. It makes me wanna cry. Such a visual song. Every time i hear it, i seriously "leave my body"..just as he sings. Took me a long time to get into this band, but now i'm convinced. Best band on earth!"

I feel left out :(

i guess for virgin ears strawberry jam is pretty weird, but they can get much much weirder. i've never had to take drugs to like them, but listening to them makes me want to. its odd though, they keep getting weirder but at the same time more accessible.

have any of you guys ever listened to 'safer'? its from the peacebone single. it definitely could've made it onto strawberry jam but it fits better on that single.

oh and one more thing, i love when panda bear plays drums and sings. maybe because its brings some actual instruments in with the electronic stuff, i donno. fuck im getting too psyched for this and the album is months away

That's a really great song, but like you said, it's a much better fit on the single. I couldn't see it meshing to well with the stuff on strawberry jam.

Water Curses would've been great though.

yea water curses did have great single potential, so many ideas packed into so little space. just waiting and waiting for the leak, i'm probably going to try to get more high than i've ever been for that.

taste is such a jam by the way.  well so are brother sport, my girls and on and on, i just thought i'd bring up taste cause no one really mentioned it.  U can definately see the hip-hop influence there, like a recasting of what music with massive beats can sound like. a giant playground/zoo thing where the manipulation of sound is only limited by your imagination, pretty neat stuff

thanks for that video gordon! anyone seen them live. i saw them at pfork fest this summer (lol) and at the metro in chicago a couple yrs back, probably see them when they come back to chi in january. who knows what songs they'll be playing by then, that's (part) of the beauty of this band, always thinking about the future while most bands tagged as 'indie' are just retreading the past with ever diminishing results. but that's enough negative vibes for an animal collective thread haha
