heavy metal thread
« on: March 30, 2009, 06:22:50 PM »
I did not see a heavy metal thread and if their was one it was probably lame.  It is time to start one and who better to start one than me grammy nominated recording artist Kim Bendix Petersen.  Many of you may know me as KING DIAMOND.   Lets list what we listen to and such.

Deep Purple
Pentagram
Rainbow
Led Zeppelin
Dio
Black Sabbath
sunn O)))
Thin Lizzy
Blue Cheer
Celtic Frost
Venom
Motorhead
Metallica (I love the Mercyful Fate medley they do)

Now it is time to list what you listen to

HAIL SATAN!!!

The Black Dahlia Murder are awesome as shit. Holding it down for the death metal scene. One of the best live shows i've been to.

Job for a cowboy and suicide silence are just plain gay however.

I have a pair of shoes autographed by Cannibal Corpse and The Black Dahlia Murder, I didn't get George Fishers autograph which sucks but everyone one else was so nice. I had Pat ask if he wanted to sign the bottom of my shoes so I would always be walking on his autograph, these shoes are probably my most valued possession.

I like a lot of the older death metal bands like Cannibal and Deicide, but I mainly listen to grind and doom/sludge

My favorite bands are Pig Destroyer and Eyehategod if that is any inclination in the huge difference in bands I like.

I fucking love metal. I love playing metal on guitar too, it's so fun. some of my most listened to bands:

Megadeth
Slayer
Death
Pestilence
Danzig
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Gorguts
Cannibal Corpse

last week I saw Cannibal corpse (with some other bands), and Children of bodom (with lamb of god, municipal waste). Tonight I'm going to see Exodus/warbringer, should be so much fun.

Black Math Horseman - Wyllt

listen to full ablum here: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/12958-wyllt/

I just found these guys. Really feeling it on first jam, got some Sabbath, Zep, Janes and Isis in the mix with enough originality to keep it interesting for me.

hell yea Amon Amarth, I saw these guys do a show here and they fuckin killed it, here's a pic from my cell phone

also I just saw Lamb of God last week, they were pretty fucking good, played a lot of their new album. They know how to put on a show, Children of Bodom opened for them and they were pretty damn good live too.

No one mentioned Devil Driver yet

Black Sabbath is the reason why metal is good, old metallic and megadeath kept it alive. I hadn't listened to any metal in a long time but my Brother's into it so I'm starting to listen to more, stoked on this thread.

edit/ pic didnt work
