If your into thrash metal you might like this band

Seen em twice. Never heard of them before I saw them the first time, I got blown away. I like some of their demo/ep stuff better than the record though. Really looking forward for their new album, gonna kick ass.

I'm just very thankful that metal, in any form, has not been lost amongst the people. Skating to metal is gnar as fuck, good hiphop is equally as badass. skating to pinback never fails aswell.

I don't listen to them a lot.  I have to be in a mood for it to really appreciate it, which makes when I do want to listen to them awesome.  I don't get bummed in the least when people don't like them, so I don't think you're crazy or anything.  I can understand why you feel that way about them as well as Opeth.  No harm in my eyes.

Though people who are bored with Mastodon get a sneer or two me at first  :D

Hahah, skate thrash? I wouldn't misuse such an awesome word as thrash to describe that band.

OT: Heading to a festival tomorrow, Manowar, Testament, Satyricon, WASP and so on. Mini ramp near the stage too.

cool lineup, I'd really like to see quite a few of those bands.
ever seen Harvey Milk before?
I saw 'em probably two dozen times in the mid-90's.
Fucking amazing band, I'd especially like to see them again.

So, Manowar was fucking crazy, I was standing in the stagepit taking pictures when they started, it was so fucking loud and heavy, like my hair was flapping like I was standing in a crazy wind. Was said to be 127 decibels. Was at their press conference too and Joey seems like a really cool person. We'll be having articles and pictures up on our website soon. Also Testament was fucking awesome, Alex Scolnik just keeps to amaze me. WASP was really boring. Satyricon was really good even though they played mostly new songs. An Iron Maiden tribute band called Iron Made'em played on the small stage, was one of the highlights for me. They did everything a 100%, they had pretty much Maidens '84 outfits, Powerslave backdrop etc.

been rocking the fuck out of Death's album, The Sound of Perseverance. i think i turned on this hot mom today by calmly talking to her and selling her son shoes to the soothing sounds of death metal.

I might be the only one.

Nah I listen to Human, Individual Thought Patterns, and (especially) Symbolic on a semi-regular basis

Opeth - I think I have all their stuff.... saw them once, intense as fuck, don't really listen to them all that much anymore...have to be in the right frame of mind I guess. Their covers of "Soldier of Fortune" by Deep Purple and "Bridge of Sighs" are fucking badass

Meshuggah...have tried to get into them because they're supposed to be so awesome; can't do it...

has anyone heard that Australian band Parkway Drive? They're kinda cool if you're into metalcore-type stuff
