If anyone on here is from Michigan or the midwest, i highly suggest going to see Beast in the Field live. Im not gonna post anything of their because it probably won't do them justice. You have to see them live. They are loud and intense. Just a guitarist and drummer. After the show the drummer "baptizes" willing fans by smashing their head into the wall of amplifiers while the guitarist lets the feedback rip. Its crazy.

I've seen Beast in the Field a bunch of times. In fact, my old band played our first show and a few others with them. Really nice dudes. They're fun for sure, but I feel like they rely a bit too much on the loud and stonery gimmick to really stand out. But still fun and ridiculously loud.

Send More Cops! - Siberian Hell

Looking for a decent early Thrash Metal band/song to use in a skate video, any suggestions? I'm drawing a complete fucking blank.

Not really a thrash dude, but I'd avoid The Big Four and go with something different.  I immediately though of:

Sacred Reich- this song is the shit.

SACRED REICH - Surf Nicaragua

Nuclear Assault

Nuclear Assault - Rise from the Ashes

Death Angel

Death Angel's "Seemingly Endless Time"

VIO-LENCE.  It'd be gutsy because a lot of weenies cry about the vocals.

POWER TRIP - DIVINE APPREHENSION

Does it have to be old?

Power Trip is pretty great.

POWER TRIP - DIVINE APPREHENSION

No, it doesn't have to really be old, I take whatever I think is badass.

pretty sure HATE! isnt into them at all but i think you could do well with exodus or overkill.

EDIT: didn't see that contemporary bands could be included - i think this toxic holocaust track would be pretty rad

Listening/jammng to Arghoslent right now!!! Their lyrics deal with heavy shit from the past and supposedly they are anti-semetic but their riffing is the best shit ever. Hornets of the Pogrom album just finished. Song of that title is my favorite because it's an instrumental.

Haven't had a chance to listen to them yet, but picked up a couple of CDs a few days ago: Rex Mundi-"IHVH," Leviathan-"Massive Conspiracy Against All Life," Kill the Client-"Escalation of Hostility," and Infanticide-"From Our Cold Dead Hands." I'm excited for all of them.

(I also bought a Bauhaus CD, but this isn't the thread for that.)

I'm very happy with all of my purchases. Still have yet to finish the Rex Mundi album, but it's really good black metal. Exactly what I've been looking for: existential/philosophical but not bullshit "transcendental" like Liturgy tries to portray themselves. I'm amazed at the fact that I used to not like Leviathan. Infanticide was pretty standard grind. Good, but I'll have to listen to it a few more times before really judging it. The vocalist for Kill The Client has such unique vocals. They really stood out to me.

In the rumor mill, Pig Destroyer is supposedly finished recording their new album and they're finally supposed to be finishing up their split with Rotten Sound. Which will be the first split I buy.

I have checked out Lurker of Chalice, but haven't had the opportunity to buy the album yet. Have you heard anything by that Twilight band Wrest did drums for?

I'll have to look into this Panopticon album. I remember you mentioning it before and being excited about it. I look forward to it.

Has anyone listened to Hypothermia?

Seem the only black metal (if it even is) that I listen to is punk influenced musically and from America.

i've been listening to the safety fire from the UK a helluva lot, they're progressive metal in the vein of bands like protest the hero.

THE SAFETY FIRE - Huge Hammers (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

THE SAFETY FIRE - Floods Of Colour (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Well HATE!, I finally listened to "Bodies Under The Falls" from Kentucky and I really liked it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find versions of the folk songs online, so I'll just have to pick up the album once he releases it on CD. Thanks for the info on Twilight, I'll keep an eye open for Monument to Time End.

I found a cheap copy of Painter of Dead Girls on Amazon, so hopefully that'll be coming in soon. Really excited for more Pig Destroyer.

I also got a copy of The Codex Necro from Anaal Nathrakh a few days ago. It's a lot more obviously black metal inspired than their later works, but I haven't really listened to it proper yet. But it was like $7 directly from Mick Kenney's label, so fuck it.

Not heavy metal related, but anyone ever hear of the industrial band G.G.F.H.? I found out about them from an Anaal Nathrakh interview, but can't find any of their CDs anywhere.

Second pressing? I read the originals were going for "?700" on Discogs, and that sounds like a lot of american dollars.

Edit, I tried to copy and paste the "L" symbol before the 700... I think it's for pounds?

So stoked for the new Gaza. I wish they would have a pre-order so I could get it before I go to Europe.
