Idk if this should be classified as hardcore or metal but there’s a lot of metal influence and the whole image of the band with the ski mask and shit is pretty metal

Hello Ladies and Gents,

When I hear people talking about listening to their vintage bbxs, they are usually listening to RUN DMC, Public Enemy, Granmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow, and a lot of the old school rappers from the 80s, etc. And I would have to say that this is some of the best sounding music out of a blaster, kind of like they were meant for each other. However, I cant listen to rap all day, as I would go nuts and probably throw my Panasonic...

I made a cool Industrial Metal tape a few nights ago with music from the 1980s onward, primarily so I could have some good workout music when I exercise. I usually take the iPod out when I go riding, etc, but the boombox has a very important rolw when weightlifting or stomach crunches..

Here is the mix tape I made, hopefully I will find some heavy music enthusiasts among the flock:

1: NWO- Ministry
2: A Drug Against War- KMFDM
3: Jesus Built My Hotrod- Ministry
4: I Hate U- NoiseBox
5: Dive Right jab- Swamp Terrorists
6: Meat Defeat- Psychopomps
7: Just One Fix- Ministry
8: Virus- KMFDM
9: Son of a Gun- KMFDM
10: RocThatBeat- NoiseBox
11: Hot Stuff- Slick Idiot
12: Lazy- Slick Idiot
13: Search and Destroy- KMFDM

Not shabby eh? Now if I had one of those metal reel taps, this would be cool :

One of the best.  Something that turned me on to doom right when I re-visited my old love for metal.

Tomb Mold has been on an absolute tear since they dropped the last two LPs. Some of this type of DM bores me (love Demilich and Demigod, but some of it can get repetitive. Tomb Mold goes tho.

^Lmao.

I just love the Finnish sound, how basically weird and gross it is.  Funny you should mention, Demilich and Demigod are probably my 2 favorite DM bands, full stop.   But it's been done a little bit too much starting in about 2012.  There are some standouts, though.  Innumerable Forms is pretty alright.  Blood Incantation and Spectral Voice are obviously well-loved around here. You probably like Vastum if you're into Tomb Mold.  Have you heard the track they put out a head of their new album?  I think it's the first time they ever used a blast beat on record.

And I'll just leave this here in case it interests anyone.  A-standard tuned death/doom for headbanging so hard you get a brain injury.

love that Vastum track, I've been following them since they dropped Hole Below. Great band. I got nothing but love for Demilich and Demigod (Slumber...is one of my favorite DM releases ever) but you're right, the style has kinda been beat to death no pun intended.

You like the first SENTENCED LP? They obviously changed up their kit in a very dramatic way, but that first record is one of my favs. The artwork, the logo, the opening "AHRRRRRRR" lol. Hard as fuck.

Jesus, Slumber is basically top 3 for me (wearing a bootleg shirt with the album art on it literally right now) and the first Sentenced record...damn, you're seriously speaking directly to me on that one.  The first riff on the first track, just some of the heaviest, moodiest death metal ever.  Favorite track is probably "Beyond the Distant Valleys", fucking unhinged.  Everything from them after that was wack, at least to me, but other people could definitely disagree.

I'm so stoked on that Vastum album, they are absolutely the most consistent newer band going right now, but taking several years between albums probably helps with not putting out garbage.  A new track just went up today, maybe it's just me but I definitely hear an early Cannibal Corpse influence with some of the hammer-ons.

you nailed it with some of the heaviest/moodiest death ever. Beyond the distant valleys, fucking christ man. And I definitely agree with you about everything after. Pretty unlistenable, but like you said, just my opinion

Just ordered the new Blood incantation Lp on vinyl and tape.  Can't wait, seems like they crank the Alien Theories vibe! Their previous album and the Spectral voice one might have been my favorites of 2016. On a related note, still a bit bummed that Abysmal Dimensions didn't tour in Europe after Killtown Death fest.

I've been listening to the newest King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard album non-stop for a few weeks now. Normally they're not strictly a metal act, but Infest The Rats Nest is some Thrash stuff straight out of 1982. It's a concept album about space colonization and Satan to boot.

Every time I post in here, it's some kind of really gross death metal, and this time is no different.  The closer off the Coffin Rot album that just came out a couple weeks ago.  Stripped down production that punches hard, vocals that sound like they're being rasped out from somewhere deep within a vaporous sewer, not even one lame riff--it's basically perfect for what it is.  Sounds like late 80s/early 90s DM before the really prominent punk/hardcore/thrash influence had been worked out of the genre quite so much; think Autopsy or Pungent Stench.  I usually listen to newer death metal once or twice before I forget I ever heard it, even when I like it, but this really digs the hooks in.  A faster one to get some more of the flavor:
