skating in the netherlands
« on: July 27, 2006, 06:27:22 AM »
I'm going to the netherlands next week,I know I'll stay in amsterdam for a few days then probably rotterdam, utercht and other places , so as usual I'd like to know if some skateparks or street spots are well worth going. I know this site,http://www.skateboardfederatie.nl and it looks like amsterdam has some sick ass parks.
Also, if you have other useful infos, skate wise or not, let me know.
Thanks.

If someone could tell me how to get to the yard that'd be great. And it is free to ride the outdoor spot or it is part of the park ?

i've been twice, im sorry but i smoked alot while i was there, BUT if you go to the Van Gogh Museum, theres a public park like 2 blocks north of there(park like trees and shit) theres a huge metal half pipe in the middle of this bitch with a strip of pavement and a sick round flat bar next to it, i met some locals and they pointed me in the direction of all the spots and the shop, find the shop and they'll take you out to all the hotness, be ready to smoke smoke smoke dem trees, and if you fall in a channel, well you might as well commit suicide.  eat at the grasshopper, and if you smoke trees, visit the uncle sam shop.  oh yeah one more piece of advice.......don't DON'T go with anybody from the main train station to stay at there "hostile" don't hang out at the main station, know exactly where your going the minute you get off the train and the minute you have to board, your fresh  prey to anybody who sees you trust me!  but most importantly HAVE FUN and see the red light district you'll get a kick out of it!
Anyone else notice that Tony Parker is the Gino of basketball?

The indoor part of The Yard is closed for good. You can still skate the roof though. Travel info can be found here. Be sure to check out Everland skatepark in Amsterdam. Besides the SFN site you already found Rootdown also has a nice spotcheck section.

Check Everland in Amsterdam. When you arrive on the Central Station go to Amsterdam North (other side of the station, not the centrum). You go there by ferry, which is free, take the most left ferry that arrives every half hour, when you get off the ferry, ride about 100 metres, take a right, and after 100 metres you'll have Everland on you're left. 5 Euros for entry.
Shpadoinkle!
