I heard that McD is off Village Green skateboards and riding for the soon to be announced Habitat international squad.  I guess he will finally get the respect that he deserves, but I really like him on Village Green and that whole Vancouver scene.

fuck sake, microcosm of the new, lamer slap...village green is an awesome company, great team, super good graphics, etc. mcdermott is an amazing skater and it's confirmation of the habitat international team...so we have the following slap plus points for this thread...:

- it's a small underground company
- with super good art direction
- and amazing skaters
- outside of california
- there is news of a team change involved
- habitat is mentioned
- it involves a very good, versatile, respected skater
- who isn't from california

the only bad point's so far is...:

- muppets trying to get cheap humour at every given opportunity
- and failing
- miserably

McD is already well respected in the Vancouver and Canada scene. Hes got the talent to go all the way!

"Although I loved my Daisy, I saw fame,
And so I left the village green."

Im pretty bummed McD left. I can't wait untill Village Green blows up. Awesome art, team, boards. Im really psyched on there new AM Dylan Thorstenson. I can't wait till a new Antisocial/VG video drops.

Goddamn, how come every time a shittly little company tries to come up people are like, 'the art is so sick!'
I just went to the village green website. The board graphics suck (I wouldn't even say they're acceptable, let alone 'sick') and the t-shirts are generic and boring. I won't bust on the company because I don't know a thing about them other than McDermott but jesus...the graphics and direction of the company are lame.
I know to the majority of slap heads that small somehow equals cool and somehow gigantic (Nike) equals cool but in my opinion, the best stuff is right there in between somehwere. See Habitat Skateboards.
Obviously there are exceptions to every rule, but Village Green is not one of them.

i've seen some of the V.G. boards in person, not too stoked on them. they are nothing special but nothing bad either. the grahics are something a little different than the norm. but it still doesn't make them stand out of the pack. good luck to them.

Mike McD. is one sick skater!

oh and the boards on the site ARE the first run of boards... after that they did the crayon ones (which were rad dad radar) and now they've got some new ones on the scene... check their MySpazz page for those.

Finally?  How long ago did the AntiSocial video come out?  He has respect no matter which company he's on.

ah, you could be right there actually... either way the crayon ones were in the middle and the ones on the site are old... before the crayon boards anyways...

someone needs to stick that anti-social vid up somewhere on the net, so people who live far away in places like Peru can see it...

not that I live in peru or anything
