Chris Cole
« on: August 08, 2006, 03:53:50 PM »
Whats the whole deal with Chris Cole's style? So many say he has a bad style but I dont really see that. I mean sure he has a few gross looking tricks but thats maybe like 3 or 4 tricks out of an entire part. Maybe its the fact that hes bulky when he skates but I think his style is alright, and not terrible like some people think.

I dont tell me how his style is gross like so many people say

skates bulky? What the fuck does that even mean? Are you trying to say the dude is big? Because skating "bulky", figure out I cannot.

o yea and at a contest like 10 years ago in PA that he won he would be rocking wu tang shirts and at the warped tour way back he'd have this like shiny blinged out g spot jersey with his name on the back

i never really liked his style but he is amazing and very consistent

56inch is the exact same person he was ten years ago. Well, at least his brain is stuck at age six.

look at ave...he used to be alot more hip hop...who cares?  the problem was cole was in the spotlight at the time...if 'the best' mattered in skateboarding....cole would likely be the one at this point in time...

people can have their own opinion on his style skate wise, i like it, the dude rips

but i think he said it best in one of his interviews or something.. in terms of fashion or whatever, the dude grew up....who didnt rock baggy stuff then they would never where now? i am sure half the dudes that dont have the "hip hop" look now wore some pretty crazy shit in the 90s. its whatevs

It annoys me how it always seems to go this way. People who used to be into beats and stuff start wearing a tighter and tighter kit. Like they "mature" or something. Like feeling hiphop is a kiddie thing you eventually grow out of. You never see rock or hipster dudes get into rhythm music. Why so?

I don't understand how you can start to like shit for music after knowing real music. Did they even feel the music at all from the beginning? Is it because you can get away with a shittier skatestyle in ballhuggers and a leather jacket? Or is it because you can finally fill out those tight clothes? Or is it that you realize what your identity as a white male "should be" in order to not look goofy?

Someone who's undergone the change in taste from hiphop/reggae/jazz to some radiohead/coldplay/johnnycash type shit please explain this to me.
