Nike Bruins
« on: August 28, 2009, 04:46:44 PM »
First off, I'd like to apologize for being a fucking regular fruit-booting Ryan Sheckler fanboy who weighs 340lbs and broke his leg trying to roll off a curb.

Anyway, here's my stupid question:  are Nike SB Bruins vulcanized or cupsole?  I've never seen them up close or found anywhere that specifies.

Also, how do the Bruins compare the discontinued Blazer Lows?  Or even the Blazer Mid/Highs?

I'm trying to decide between Bruins and these Blazers:

Again, I'm sorry for being an idiot and look forward to being flamed.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks.

they're vulc.  they're lowtop vulcs so that puts them in the category of all other lowtop vulcs - usually pretty good.  prefer blazers though just because i like the snappy name.  i'm a penguins fan so i can skate a shoe named for the bruins.  even if it wasnt specifically, it still shares the name.  does this help you?  yes or no.  please circle one.

what does it matter if you can't even roll off of a curb?

seriously though, blazers are going to last longer than bruins. if you want some padding around your ankles in case of snake bite, go with the highs. if you don't give a fuck, like a true g, try the bruins or harbors. harbors are great.

blazer low's, just because their discontinued doesnt mean you cant get them.
the only thing better about the hi's are grip and you wont role your ankle.
dont get the bruins please

I looked at a pair of bruins at the skate shop and they look like complete fucking shit!
what the fuck is up with the nylon tongue and why in the fuck would you reinforce a shoe with canvas?????

the nylon tongue is pretty comfy and maybe makes them lighter. as for the canvas, I have no idea. I don't think the OG Bruins had it.

A cupsole is a onepiece, less flexable sole.
a vulcanized sole is a two piece sole, and is usually way more flexable.
cupsoles are better for high impact skating and usually result in less heel bruises.
vulcsoles can be used in any type of skating as well, but your feet might hurt more after skating stairs, rails, or gaps.

ie. emerica reynolds 2= cupsole
    emerica reynolds 3= vulc sole
