Just get yourself a shell and layer.

I live in Michigan, and that method seems to work best for me.

I've got one in black but it's the synthetic shit rated for the North Pole. I wish I had gotten the traditional Carhartt cotton duck though 'cause mine's a little too stiff. Once the cotton duck breaks in it's pretty nice. I also wish mine was a size smaller; I bought it online and it ran a little bigger than I was expecting.

But buy a Carhartt jacket and you'll never need another.

yeah set for weather in california, no way in hell you'd want to be outside for more than 15 minutes in the winter with that get-up

I'm from SoCal and I'm just done with my first real winter down here in Santiago de Chile, i was freezing my ass off half the winter, bought an Indy jacket and it didn't work out so fuck core points. thermal, flannel, fleece, and then the jacket.

for work i had to get different stuff, i hate winters, i hate Chile and i wanna go back home.

the north face is for fags, I'd get a Columbia jacket, if I spend another winter here I'm gonna get a Columbia jacket and some long johns because the fucking cords didn't cut it either.

I wanna do my masters in New York, so that means I better get used to this bullshit weather or I won't be able to cope.

Big Smith is a pretty good company--their shits not that expensive and its REAL warm. They can be a bit heavy but not too bad. I got mine at Lowe's i think.

Just a leather jacket, shirt and t-shirt.

No need to go mental on the layering 'round here.

You warm up as soon as you get in the pub anyways.

picked up this at a thrift store for $20, throw it on top of a black thrasher hoody and i'm out the door.  it retails on the internet somewhere for like $80.

or alternatively, i've got a well-worn denim jacket that looks nice on top of the same thrasher hoody.  YEAH I SAID IT A DENIM FUCKING JACKET.

Used as a shell, layer hoodies and sweaters underneath when necessary. It's been treating me well, but then again I'm not in Calgary anymore.

I recently bought a LOGG hoodie for 30 bucks. It's got like a soft lining so it's not too thin and pretty warm, with a checkered/flannel type pattern on it. That will last me until winter really gets going, and once that happens I want a coat just like this:

although preferably with some kind of hood.

That jacket is what you are calling a the LOGG hoodie? Because that jacket looks super comfy.

No I don't have a picture of the hoodie, that picture I posted is a Matix jacket.
