Yeah what the fuck is with this international bullshit that so many companies are on?
This guy has been sick for too long on some wack international deal, put him on the real shit he's fully deserving.
Seems like a lot of ripping Canadians are stuck in this purgatory type of sponsorship, what's up with that?

I also do not understand this either.  It would seem like a plus to me if a skater was at a pro-level and from another country.  I'd want them on my company.  I enjoy watching footage from unique spots instead of the same old "famous" cali spots.

I appreciate! damn reed you're coming through with good topics lately, keep it up!

habitat's kinda sucking lately. great boards but the company just isn't what it used to be..and in this case its 'for worse'.

Im surprised this topic doesn't have way more comments. Mikes been killing it for soooo long. The first skate video I ever bought he had a part in and he is still killing it with better style that anyone.

Aside from Habitat, which other companies have Canadian or International pros that are not recognized as USA pros?  McD's not even on the team page.  wtf is that?

http://www.habitatintl.com/#team

whoever manages Habitat needs to get on Jamies level and start judging skateboarders on skill rather then place. Mcd is light years ahead of Marius in every possible way. now that i think about it... who else on Habitat can do fakie shuv-it switch varial heels out? noone

it's disheartening more than anything when companies try to win over certain regions by hooking dudes up and only half assing it. i recognize the fact that they did a couple boards with mcdermott's name on it but when they can't put him on the official team...what is that saying? "yeah, the dude's good....but not that good." a comment like that can't even apply to mcdermott in the first place so I'm not sure what castrucci and them are thinking.

yeah... it's kind of half assed.

As whacky as Darkstar is, I have to give them respect for historically having so many Canadians fully on (ams and pros) in the past several years.

wooww this dude has been killing it forever! it's cool to see that some other people actually dig this guy's skating. this dude definitely deserves to be on the "real" team but maybe there are reasons beyond our knowledge for him being an international pro. personally i think it's cooler that way cause he's reppin canada well by sticking it out over there.

I was skating a school in San Antonio with Mike when he came to Texas last year. We were being escorted out of the school's fenced in courtyard through the school's cafeteria. Mike made a comment to the school faculty about some of the children's art being heavy on Nike logo placement. They tried to get witty and asked what was on the bottom of his board......

"My Name!" was his response. Watching him punk out the faculty was fucking priceless.

That dude is legit. International Teams are crap. Skateboarding is global and not a regional thing. I would buy one of his boards in the U.S. if I ever came across one.

csumers that is fucking rad

mike is one of my favorite skaters, definitely deserves legit pro status. I was working one time and he came up to me and asked where something was, and then we started talking. I must have sounded like a big dork. it was completely out of the blue and I was just trying to make conversation while the resisting the urge to fan out and tell him I've probably watched his modern love part a hundred times
