In '97 Tom Penny snuck my board into the Flip demo for me.  I told him they were charging $15 to get in and he said that was bullshit.  He walked in with it and as soon as I got in he handed back to me and told me to have fun.

Kalis tried to charge my friends a toll fee to skate a spot.  I rolled up right after and he looked at me talking to them and said, "Oh, you guys are with him?  That's cool then", which was weird because I'd see him at Jeff Phillips park all the time but never talked to him.

I've posted here before but Kirchart showed up for a Birdhouse demo in '97, with Gonz, at the peak of his all black Hook-Ups shoe phase.  Klein and Kirchart were introducing themselves to the girls from the shop in the back room.  Klein said, "Hi, I'm Jeremy".  Kirchart just looked at them and said, "I'm goth" and walked out of the room.  Haha!

I used to see justin eldridge at the skatepark all the time. Met terrel robinson at active he was sitting behind the board counter playing on his sidekick.
later on i saw garrett hill walking out of activeas i was walking in. went to jereme rogers video premiere , p rod was there. before jereme was crazy. met Reynolds at a demo asked him for his hat but he just got it. but he was nice and even talked to my mom as he bought cigs. Ive met a few more but this is really lengthy. all of them were pretty nice justin gave me some tips on nollies.

partied with the emerica team when i was in gr.12. herman, spanky, ellington, leo, and a bunch of canadian ams or flow or whatever were there all drunk as fuck, it ruled.
me and leo talked black metal i remember, ellington held a shotgunning beer contest
apparently heath stayed at the hotel to "watch tennis" aka jerk off
no reynolds though, even though hes sober it woulda been rad to see him there
they were all the nicest dudes, spanky was explaining ellington to us and hes said "hes just a bit of a broverload sometimes"

All of these stories are great! Growing up in the bay area, ive met a lot of pros.
When I was little going to vans milipitas everyday I met most of all the TMA dudes. I remember seeing marc wearing lakais for the first time and I was so bummed. I was skating the step up gap with poncho moler and friends and that dude definitely has a big ass hahaha. I never saw caswell skating but Id always see him outside smoking. One summer I went there randomly and i guess fuel was having a demo, evan hernandez, and josh harmony were there with others. Josh harmony is one of the nicest dudes.
months later it was a zumiez couch tour and circa had a gay setup in the parking lot, instead of skating vans park. apples, bledsoe, muska, ramondetta, colt, and lenny rivas were all pretty cool dudes. I had a small conversation with all of them.

and recently in the past 2 years ive met brian anderson a couple of times hes one of the nicest dudes. omar salazar chatted up with me and my friends when we saw him crossing the street and we were stopped at the light haha that was cool of him. saw beebs and stefan at B street park, theyre cool dudes. potrero del sol is a good place to see pros, BA, busenitz, tnt, frank, peabody, ive seen them all there. damn thats all I can remember right now, i know theres more but yea keep these stories comin!

oh ya i got another one.  one time i was at LAX in the McDonalds, i was eating nearby Sean Malto, Mikey Taylor, some old guy (probably the TM), and this other kid.  i heard them talking about how the Etnies Faction shoe wasn't that good for kickflips, like the toe busts real quick. i was just overhearing them and was like "WTF?" i assumed they thought their etnies shoe would be good but i guess not.

First time at pier 7, skating the place to myself at 10 am. About a half hour later, Lavar Mcbride rolls up and we skate the place together for about an hour. I was fanning out pretty hard cuz I was still stoked off his trilogy part that had dropped about a year before and dude was killing it at that time. He'd just had that 411 profile come out too Super nice guy and I didn't know at the time that he was only a year older than me, he seemed like an adult and he was maybe 17/18 at that time. ANyway, he was hyped that I was wearing a pair of the Blind jeans after they'd stopped making em and didn't kook me when my dad came up asking to take a photo of us. So about 20 minutes after we took the photo, we're skating again and this other dude rolls up and is skating with us. he misses a crooked grind and fell and Lavar jokingly mocked him and the dude snapped. Grabbed Lavars board and hucked it into the water, then they start screaming at each other, random dude is wavin his finger in my face screamin "It's this niggas first day on the set and he don't know what the fuck he doin" and I thought for sure something was gonna happen. Lavar just kept screaming "you threw mah set up in the mothafuckin ocean how you gwon throw mah mothafuckin set up in the ocean" over and over again then said he was goin to FTC and took off toward market st and dude just kept yelling shit at Lavar til he was out of sight.
say they ain't no gravity up there....mean we could get high and never come down....

-First demo ever was an emerica demo, and my board got stolen. When I was picking out a new board, Reynolds came up to me and told me all these reasons I should skate indy trucks. I was 12 years old, and pretty blown away that he would care. Everyone else there (Leo, Matt Allen, Heath, Ellington) was super cool, except for tosh.
-A few weeks ago, I saw David Clark and a few of his friends chilling in Stratosphere, looking through magazines.
-At a Girl demo in 2006, I wanted to get a picture with Rick and Mike. I asked Rick and he called Mike to come over there and he asked, "Why, you need me to take the picture?"
-Meeting James Craig two years ago, I wasn't sure if he would knew who I was from the boards. He remembered that my birthday was the next day too, I was hyped.
-I talked to Jeff Lenoce for a few minutes at the baker demo, he asked about some of the pictures I took. Really nice guy, most of the baker guys are.

growing up on long island i've had many gino encounters, seen him a bunch at pretty much the only skatepark in our county(the one he skates in his epicly laterd) hes always real nice says whats up asks how its going, he had the girl team skating my hometown one day while they were filming for yeah right, the gap he back heels off the bump into the street is around the corner from my house, jeron also backside flipped this huge gap in my town and gino pop shoved it, i think jeron used his for an ad.

i was pen pals with frank gerwer for like 2 years. I didn't even know who he was at the fallen demo but he was killing it so i made him a turkey sandwich. then I wrote him a letter and it all went from there. I skate with malto on occasion. I'd really really really really like to have a conversation with mark gonzales someday. most pros are cool.

David Broach sucks mainly because of his shitty rockstar attitude.  He comes back to TX and acts like an asshole.

The guy used to rollerblade...

95' X-GAMES I WAS 10 YEARS OLD. FOLLOWED KAREEM AROUND FOR AN ENTIRE DAY LIKE A LOST PUPPY. I REMEMBER HE BROKE OUT SAYING HE WOULD BE BACK AND I WAITED FOR LIKE 5 HOURS FOR HIM WITH MY MOM AND LITTLE BROTHER. HE COMES BACK WITH A FRESH WORLD BOARD AND TWO SHIRTS FOR US WITH THE SWAGGER LIKE WE HAD BEEN WAITING 5 MINUTES. LOOKING BACK IT SEEMS INSANE. MY MOM MUST OF BEEN SO EMBARRASSED OF HER KID BUT LET ME DO MY THING AND SAT ON THE SIDELINES, AND KAREEM FUCK MATE KNOWING THAT HE COULD HAVE A LIFE LONG IMPACT ON A KID WITH A SIMPLE GESTURE. I REMEMBER MY BROTHER AND I WOULD SWITCH OFF HOLDING THE BOARD EVERY FEW MINUTES ON THE RIDE HOME. I STILL HAVE THE BOARD AND BOTH THE SHIRTS, 13 YEARS LATER AND IF MY HOUSE WAS BURNING DOWN AROUND ME YOU BETTER BELIEVE THOSE THINGS WOULD BE MAKING IT OUT.

On two seperate occasions in barcelona i had someone come up out of nowhere, grab me and yell "give me your board nigga!", both times it was Fred Gall. On the day he was leaving he rolled up i giant joint of all hash, took 2 hits and gave it to my friend and i, we definitely fanned out over that. Also bought some boards off chico and jeron after having mine get taken by the cops

when I was like 14 me and some friends were at the mall and chet thomas and some other skaters went to west 49 so we followed them and talked to them for a bit. chet thomas is fucking tiny.

every 6 months or so I see jason crolly randomly around town. he delivers newspapers to vending machines around the city late at night and I always see him buying beer or restocking machines. the first time I saw him was at like 3 am after a hard night of ecstasy and vodka, and I was just caught off guard. I was like "whoaaa... it's jason crolly" and he's just like "sup." seeing him is like seeing bigfoot.

first pro i saw was zered way back in 01 before he was pro. he was ripping skater island and i asked what his name was and all i heard was "zar" so i went around telling my friends how sick this dude zar was for a few months until this older kid told me it was zered.

in the 6th grade my friend jared was pretty good friends with aquil brathwaite from skating at skater island. aquil came back to chill with us and watch skate videos and he caused a whole bunch of shit at jareds  house. he told  one of jareds sisters friends 'hey fat bastard get off the fuckin computor" then he hid a fart machine in her room and kept hitting the button. then the next morning we were hanging christmas lights and he stapled me in the thigh with a staple gun. he then put a trash barrell over jareds brothers head and tackled him down the hill in the front yard. aquil didnt sleep one minute that night he just watched sight unseen, black cat, and photosynthesis over and over.

i met donny barley back in like 01 or 02, he was a dick

when i was like 11 years old i was at a 5boro demo and this dude emmitt bennett collided with me and fuckin took my ass out. he was an am for 5boro and i was on my ass on the verge of tears.
