Richmond CA Skatepark - NEW BAY AREA PARK - PICTURES
« on: October 08, 2009, 01:03:25 AM »
Looks like there's a new "skate spot" skatepark in the bay area. Rumor is it's open and skateable but i can't find any info on an opening or pictures of people skating it. Just this shitty sketch.

^^^Sup Dean. I'll shoot some photos but you know I suck at skating shit. I actually really hate skating now.

I googled some stuff up and I found this: http://www.pillardesignstudios.com/home.cfm?myNewsId=82 Says it is scheduled for November 2009 and nothing that it says it is open now. This is the address I got on another site:

3230 Macdonald Ave, Richmond, CA

It's near the Richmond auditorium sort of.

Benicia over fairfield? I don't know about that one. It's fun and all but fairfield is so much fun in its fucked upedness. Either way Ripon, potrero, and Sunnyvale are the best parks in the bay

I think overall, your still better off NOT living in Richmond. Not trying to hate on your hometown, but damn that place is fucked up.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”

Too many kids that don't even skate hanging out
there are games of football in the park

other than that it's awesome. Ledges are all super nice, trannies tight. There's an uphill ledge, a c-block, bank to rail/ ledge, and perfect benches spread throughout the park. But it's really a street park, no quarter is above 5 feet.

never been to those three, but yes, fairfield is the best park i've ever been to. benicia is fun too, though. the thing is, both parks are usually crowded when i go to them, but fairfield is so spread out that it doesn't really affect you.

That a-frame rail looks fucking awesome. I love those. Just for that I gotta head out there. I only saw that and some weird ledge but it looks real good.

Just went there on saturday. That up ledge is fun as fuck. The best part was that there was some fight across the street and so the park pretty much cleared and I practically had that shit to myself for half an hour

The fight lasted half an hour?

Also, they should really put on some sort of deck to the mini-ramp. I know they are going for the simple look... but it would be much more functional, and probably used a lot more with a deck. Plus your board/you wouldn't risk falling over the side of the ramp every time you did a trick.
