I live on the other side of the world and will never skate this, but if I did live in the area I would buy you a cold one!

Used something very similar on a concrete block i keep in the garage for lazy days. It's held up incredibly well.

We started a little crowdfunding with our local skateshop to repair / build spots in our city.
This is the first thing we did this weekend :

It is still very new, so it is hard to grind and it fucks trucks a lot but I guess it is kind of a normal thing ?

You can always take a rock or a piece of griptape and sand down that sharp edge.

What's the best adhesive for applying angle iron to concrete?

i've always used gorilla glue to positive effect but i think liquid nails might be more the 'industry standard'. gg expands so you put it on there then weigh down the angle iron til it's dried into it's final form

What kind of paint would you suggest me ?
Will it also protect from rust ?

just like a gloss black spraypaint. i spose any color would work  but i've had luck w/ it. i think it gets grinded of but by then you're rocking. if you kept it painted after most sessions i'm sure it would weatherproof it.
sadly none of my ledges have lasted long enough to test that theory. sposedta build one or 2 this wk, letchaz know how it comes out.

We managed to get three iron corner on that little plaza, now the spot is ridiculously sick.
We filed down the corners, then sanded them down with griptape and waxed them, everything is grind real fine, but it is still destroying trucks a lot.
For that reason, a lot of people don't want to skate there...
Do you guys think we must make those corner more roundish by liming them down again, or painting will be enough ?

appreciate ya'lls!
funny, this dude that lives at the spot 'shadow' called me 'the postman'. goes 'thats what we all call you.'
i'll run w/ it i guess. so we cemented the polejam in place, bondo'd some ground and one intrepid soul made a curved curb.

and we fattened up the mainstream ledge and made it 8 feet instead of 6.

know what's funny? the kid who made it 'fuckinquinny' is the same kid who helped stabmaster build that pink ramp up top on this page. he's a wormside kid on loan to us. i've been hanging around the bridge and tranny diy to sort of apprentice since they've been at it a long time.
i like that pink ramp's style, mr arson. if we decide to do a bank or something i'd like it to be thin, free standing cement but idk if we're that versed in rebar.

started a tribute piece of art. will continue as i get more paint, like to tie the whole spot together. name the album, get a gnar.

my old DIY was slightly skateable but mostly in disrepair but now it's covered in wood chips. RIP Arctic Plaza. gonna try to get my crew to deconstruct the pyramid and bring it's innards to the new spot.

shouldn't

i just built a quarter pipe at a local park. there's a ditch at this park by my house that coincidentally enough was actually made in the 80s for skateboarding (at least so they say) the ditch goes along for a while, maybe 100 yards or so with a few different spots where the banks come up to rock walls of different heights. tonight we went and built a quarter pipe coming out of one of the banks and flushing up to the top of a rock wall making the top edge the lip. we just did a few hours ago and we're waiting for a few weeks to make sure it doesn't get torn down before building more. i'll post a photo here in the next few days when i go back. wish us luck!

imagine fucking the dog shit outta chris roberts

This school by my house built New ledges and they cut out sections to act like a skate stopper

Took it upon myself to fix it up with some steelstik(shout out to Pabst for the recommendation)
Only had enough to make the front part flush enough so i can do slides over it but I'm planning on finishing it sooner than later and filling in the back part, but for now I'm stoked on having a ledge I can frequent

Photos are kinda crap but I'll make sure to take more as soon as finish it up

Yours looks amazing, like everything I've ever wanted to build.  We're resuming work on the Pyramid the week of 4/14, finishing that and possibly building some other little goodies if there are bags left over.  The long term plan is to build a bowl corner, similar to what you built, in the one shady part of the spot.  This spot has been around since 1995, there's footage of a young Bobby Worrest skating it, and Marc Johnson rambling about something in the Pizza place next door.  Bobby came through and murked the new ledge the other day, it was a sight to see for sure.

Bobby is around the 4:10 mark
