i've said it before, but skateboarding needs more characters. They tend to define the art, for better or for worse, and are more obviously more marketable, thus the companies they ride for. i don't especially like TK, but he's better than me, and in my opinion, can get away with not skating in an ad. I hate to make the comparison, but enjoi rarely has anyone skateboarding in its ads. They're able to do that and remain rad, but baker somehow can't do that without catching some criticism. i think if a skateboarder is as marketable as TK and can make baker some money without putting his body on the line, so be it.

If you look at his Baker 3 and Baker Has a Deathwish parts, almost half of the footage is just him talking or being a goof. Not that I think that's a bad thing. I appreciate a pro who's interesting as well.

The problem I have with TK is that he's been doing the same tricks for the past 9 years. Plus, almost all of the tricks in his parts are shown two to three times from different angles. So for any 3 minute part he's put together, he's really only collected 1 minute of actual footage. Watching his Baker/Deathwish part was like watching a Happy Days rerun, same shit–different day.
