Knee Problems
« on: August 20, 2006, 07:49:43 PM »
All of a sudden my pushing knee buckled like 10 times today, it doesn't really hurt but I wanna know what's wrong.  When I put pressure on it or take a weird turn it just gives out.  I'm bummed.

definatly do a lot of stretching before your next session, hopefully it will help a lot.  if not, try drinking more water for your joints.

well if you can stop skating for a while do that.. ice it up and heat.. take a break for a while.. if that dont work and you really wanna get back to skating normally.  maybe try physical therapy for a while

Be safe....I tore my ACL in my left knee and couldn't any weight on it for quite awhile....even when it started feeling better(after surgery I might add)...I got the strength back by skating switch and not doing any tricks....just pushing...and not switch mongo....also..if you use Absorbine Jr....it helps with the pain a little bit...good luck.stay strong.

werd up.  coming from another dude whos ruptured his ACL numerous times,  it would be wise to research some leg and knee exercises and also stay away from stairs.

start taking Glucosamine, and MSM, there supplements that help promote cartlidge and ligament growth, while lubricating your joints, trust me i take this shit every day and when i run out of it i feel a difference in a week easily, shit will help you push for many years to come.

what exactly do you mean when you say your knee buckled? or gives out whatever... i wanna know if i have the same problem.
ive had a weaker knee for years now, and after hard days of skating you can see there's fluid in the knee. it hasnt gotten to the point where i cant skate anymore or that i feel like i have to see a doctor asap, but then again i dont want to fuck it up permanently.

where can you get those lance?
you can usually get them in any health food store, or drug store, but i get em' at Target cause you get a shitload of em for half the price you'll pay in any health food store, make sure to get 1000 mg, insted of 500mg, you'll have to take twice as many and pay more over time.
