MGC consists of two schools. The regular school where students can go to get their core classes done, then transfer to bigger schools, and the Aviation school, located 20 miles away from the regular school, which offers BA degrees in Flight, ATC, and Avionics, and a few other things.
I'm not too sure what the SAT and ACT scores needed are, but we'll go with your 950 and 20.
The way the Air Traffic program works, is you need to graduate with above a 3.0 to even be considered for a recommendation. This recommendation is made by the Aviation department heads, and entitles you to apply at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma.
So I guess in a sense anyone can enter the program, even with shitty SAT or ACT scores, but if you do not perform, you won't get the recommendation, which means you just got a BA Degree in Air Traffic Controlling for nothing.
So with that said, why do I attend MGC? Well the ATC program was ranked #1 in the Nation by the FAA. While getting my degree in ATC (Business and Science in Air Traffic Managment), I can head on over to the flight building and work on my pilot ratings. Not only that, but after I graduate, I will be certified to work at the schools Air Traffic Control Tower.
By the time I finish here, (next summer), I will have an Aviation BA degree, my pilot ratings, work experience in an ATC Tower. What more could the Air National Guard want?
All that is really left is scoring high on the AFOQT and making a portfolio to send to various units.
Oh and I'll go ahead and post my SAT scores in just a second
