My girlfriend tried to give me some incentive to finish my thesis and said that I could buy a PS3 when I graduate. I said game on! and now it's a year and a half later, and I'm getting my papers next thursday. I started a 2 and a half week vacation from work on last thursday, so I went and bought the PS3 and Skate3 and damn it tastes so sweet to finally be able to actually play the sucker after reading this thread for the past month.

But fuck it's hard to hit the ledges on hardcore mode. I've played 1 & 2 for some hours on my friends machines so going HC only seemed logical but I'm having a hard time with the challenges that involve banks to ledges or multiple ledges. But I've only played for less than 10 hours so far, so I guess I'll get to it.

It has nothing to do with EA or the dudes at Black Box. The bigwigs, Sony and Microsoft, don't want to play nice together I'd also guess that because they run on completely different engines, the information just isn't compatible between the two.

I want a honest opinion. Why should I buy this game if I already have Skate 2? What's better in Skate 3?

1. A completely new map with great spots that I'm still pretty damn unfamiliar with.

2. Create a park and user-uploaded parks means you'll never run out of spots.

3. As far as gameplay goes, the walking/running is ridiculously improved.

4. Advanced cameras come free this time around.

5. Hardcore mode is seriously fun if you play the game as much as I do.

6. I miss you.

the patch is out,they fixed the free cam,you can stick to the ground now and go trought objects.they also add a merging tool to the parc creator and it's fuckin sick.

Has anyone played this yet since the new patch came out?  (it automatically updates when you boot up)

HUGE improvements, specially in HQ grinding.  Works and feels the way it should.  Seriously improves gameplay so much.

and i never got into building parks yet, but there have been huge improvements there too, mainly you can merge anything into anything.

AND

advance free cam is AMAZING now.  Doesn't glitch out when you bump into the ground/objects.  Makes filming 10 times quicker/easier.
