You need to get this.

They're also making a new one for the Wii. Which is unfortunate, because I don't have one.

I fucking play this game everyday.

You are the coolest.

How many times did I win the Title with Ric Flair and Macho Man, I lost count.

That game was so fun. I always would choose Bret Hart or Mr Perfect and get my wins by beating the shit out of dudes on the outside and getting the countout.

I actually play in a video game cover band. We have a couple live recordings up here.

ok virtualNES im not sure about that emulator, the best one for windows are NESTICLE for NES... it played every rom i ever d/l;d

also if you want good roms use www.vimm.net

for SNES i say go with ZSNES if you are on PC

if you are on mac i dont know what to tell you, try a different emulator. vimm'/s site should have every single release of every emulator worth downloading.

there is a guy in town selling final fantasy 3 for 80$ and chrono trigger for $96. that is more than they cost when they came out (sort of... inflation has came up 2-3% since then for sure but still)

That's a little bananas, even for 2010.  I just got FF3 for $35.  I also got 6 games off this lady on craigslist that were filled with roaches.  Had to throw everything into a ziplock bag and suffocate the things while I waited for the 3.8 mm bit to come in the mail so I could clean them out.  I want an Earthbound, but that shit is not worth $200.  Even the reproductions are upwards of $80 and those are usually some sort of hacked Super Famicom board.  I am thinking of buying a Cotton import.  I'll have to expand the bay so the SF cartridge fits though.  I could learn Japanese.  How hard can it be?

Anyone know of a site to get any good home brew cartridges for a decent price? (NES or SNES)

www.shopflashback.com

$60 reproduction games.  Pretty good deal.  English version of Clock Tower.  They'll make any game of your choice for $75.  That's kinda steep, but considering people are charging $200+ for some shit...

Well, you could download the roms for free and play them on Higan.  The downside is no emulator is going to make the game look or sound as good as the console will.  Even certain models of the console won't look as good as others.  You can mod the snes mini to output raw RGB to a good 20 inch BVM or PVM (15khz hsync) and it will look like something you dreamed about as a child.  Those broadcast monitors used to be $2k or more but now that the only people that use them are retro game nerds, you can get them for around $350 on a bad day.  But, like I said, you can still play it on an emulator for free.  Lots of good stuff is on the Wii virtual console for $10 too.

Or if you want a middle of the road sort of thing, you can get a flash cartridge that will store all of the games in one.  The problem with those is you have to wait until they get enough preorders that they actually produce them, and they aren't cheap.  The best one right now is currently in stock though, so if you're interested:

I was able to perform a soft mod on my original Wii & port all 700+ SNES games through a flash drive using the accompanying homebrew emulator (errr can't remember if its SNES9X).

Easily the best thing you can do with the Wii & the games play great with the Gamecube controllers.

I think the general consensus about this game is that it is fucking fantastic! The re-port was sooooooooooo bad . . .

Fuck yes, all classic shit!

On a side note: SNES games always had awesome soundtracks.

I just began my third attempt to play through FF3 yesterday.  I have never been able to keep focused to keep playing past the opening hour or two, but I feel like I'm obligated because I own the physical copy and I've beat VII 3 times so I can't weigh in on the VI vs. VII debate.

This was mine and my friends collection before I left Vancouver. Bottom right was the SNES collection. We beat a bunch of games including Super Ghouls n' Ghosts(which I saw mentioned earlier), Wild Guns, Super Punch Out. Game of choice was always NHL 94 with 4 player adapter so you could almost have a full team. The hits in that game are endless fun. Wherever I move I always buy a NES or SNES with a couple of gems.

I did this too but not Snes9x. Its an emulator channel that I acquired. Now I can play snes, nintendo, 64, sega, gameboy, 32x, dreamcast, gamegear, Saturn, Gameboy, and other various games. Its easily the best thing ive ever done.

Download this program, it's essentially iTunes for rom files.
www.openemu.org

Download your games from here.
www.coolrom.com

Buy a retrolink usb snes controller from eBay for $10 and you now have access to pretty much any old school game you can imagine for roughly $15. I've been playing nes and snes games on this program for a few months and I have to say, it's flawless.
