what a beautiful thread! I ran across the site doing a google search for "grind trucks through axle"......because it gets me off seeing damage  and I do damage. I pretty much grind every truck to the axle and have been skating since 1987 ...to be fair about half of the time I have skated I have gone to the axles and pretty much kill every truck. I too, love seeing the grinds and gashes because as one of you said "each one has a memory". Skateboarding isn't a bunch of tricks to me....it's me putting myself into the board and whatever I am skating....what comes out of it is also ME....in damage left by me. Make sense? I did this up with one of my trucks for fun.

grindking from late 90's

this is my current Venture...few days ago, they are much "better" than this now  ;D photo might be hard to tell, but axle
almost all the way across

last ones were Thunder and I don't have the last damage photo...but this is close before the axle was showing

same grindkings, both to axles , cracked too, busted kingpin baseplate sex

better pic of my current....see behind kingpin where axle shows from factory....you can see how they are down to it.
(new setup waiting for my old to die)
have skated current about two months maybe...

I have more in the box of junk, but this should do for now.

I'm just about there too.  A year and a half in.

I'm thinking about getting some Indy stage 11s next. How does the lifetime warranty work on them? Do you email them a picture once you grind through a pair?

Guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects. Grinding down to the axle falls under normal wear and tear.

This thread has me determined to hit axle on my current indys. I haven't got down to the axle in like 7 years, something else always breaks before then, and it's been even longer since I got to the pivot cup. Then again being half the size I am now and being a broke little kid probably helped me out.

The last Indy's I broke through. Now I'm riding a set of shitty Gullwings I got for free and really missing these trucks. Had such a nice groove worked in.

I tried it on my thunders but they just ended up bending and the kingpin nut was impossible to bet off because there was very little hanging on

I know Thunders are guaranteed against defect, but I thought Indies were straight guaranteed for life.
Some dudes earlier in the thread mentioned grinding through indies and getting new pairs.

getting the grooves into your trucks and putting in that work on real concrete is an irreplaceable feeling of accomplishment.

done it a few times, here's currently what I'm working with. Had these Indys since the first of Nov.

Bought these Indys in the winter of 2011.  Spent 2012 grinding them out and hit the axle.  Frontside slappy bite marks.  The last pair of Indys I had were years ago - the baseplate broke after a couple of weeks of flatground tricks, it was disheartening so I switched to Destroyers. I guess they were a defect pair of Indys though, these have stayed on point.  Shout out to Studio

This thread always reminds me of this indy ad. Hewitt is the man.

Back truck. 1 1/2 inches of axle

Front truck. 1/2 inch of axle

I had these almost 2 years. And recently replaced them with a new set of 139s.
