sorry to bring back an old thread, but I'm just about to treat myself and buy a brand new setup, its been to long!

I ride stock 139's loose/how they come tightened, going to buy some more 139's and thinking of going for the medium bones bushings? I'm fairly heavy say about 200 pounds, would I be better off going with the hard bushings?

Help a brother out!

depends on how tight you ride your trucks.
Mediums are probably what you need.

Well, I ride them loose but not super loose, enough to carve etc to ride out most landings, but not to loose. I might just buy both and see which works out better? ha.

Sounds like mediums would be a bit loose then, but i dont know how hard the hard ones actually are. Im riding my mediums with both washer. Anyone know if this is the equivalent of riding hard ones without both washers?

seeing as you're 200 lbs, i'd probably get the hard ones just to be safe.
you can always loosen the nut and ride hard bushings loose.
but you can't make soft bushing any harder by tightening the nut.  you just end up busting the bushing.

I'm riding mediums with the kingpin nut hanging half off, once the cold weather kicks in and they contract I'm fucked.

It's time to man up try those gooshy soft blues.

i had trouble fitting the medium ones on my venture highs. i had to only use the bottom bones bushing and the stock venture bushing for the top.

Ventures are repelling the idea of turning.  Just force the bushings in, until they accept it.

Because if you look at the actual sizes of the bushings they are out of proportion with bones. The bottom stock busing is way bigger and the top is smaller.Even if you do get them in your truck will be sitting angled down and will blow the bushings out quickly.Bones are only built for a few trucks, indys seem to be the best fitting.Thunders kind of fit but usually have the same problem as venture.

Yea my bottom one messed up when i put them on some thunders. The medium ones make indy's tight, but on thunders they're on the loose side of medium.

the thunder(clear-ish colored) stock bushings are actually really good.
as well as the indy(yellow/orange) and the venture(white) stock bushings.

a lot of people swear by bones bushings but they seem to be more of a pain to deal with than anything else.  not to mention that they're kind of expensive for what they are.

This.

If you skate thunders you don't need bones bushings.

yeah its pretty expensive for just bushings (around $10) but i've used the same pair for two sets of trucks..so there worth every penny in my opinion

Just went out skating on my Indys with yellow bones after last time when I skated Thunders with stock bushings. The difference is amazing. The way they re center themselves makes skating so much better.

for some reason, bones fit on venture 5.0 lows but not 5.2 lows (?)
didn't have a problem putting them in 147 his

I got my kid on Indy 129's with the soft bones. And I'm on the Indy 139's with the mediums. His board turns silent and mine is squeking and squaking. We both ride loose. Do they quiet down with time or are the soft ones just like that? Would WD40 help?

Bottom washer on or off? Bones say you don't need it, whats the verdict? Any advantages to taking it off?
I've got it on at the moment but not skated with them yet.

Surprisingly most truck noise comes from your pivot cups.Put a drop of oil in there and see how they feel.Im not saying they don't make noise but usually the plastic squeaks more.

the only difference is that your trucks become slightly tighter. Also the bushings get a little fucked on the sides but it dont matter.

I had the soft ones, but they didn`t last long.I think after a little more than one month they fell apart.
