Slave - Summer 2010
« on: August 03, 2010, 10:04:37 PM »
I'm not sure if this has been posted or not, but I figured it doesn't matter considering there's a text yourself thread on the first page. There are a few new boards and shirts posted up on the Slave site.

Anyone know where I could get one of those shirts? The war pigs one is really sick.

Fuck Slave is good!

Just bought a Jon Allie board yesterday. Best graphics!

Sucks we hardly get anything from them where I'm from.

It's not new anymore, but that black metal bitches series is very nice, especially the "I hate my baby" one. If only I could handle an 8.5.
take what small comfort there may be left
seize what you love and damn all the rest

I had that board and even though I normally ride 8.38's it still felt pretty massive. Seeing the graphic when I skated for the first week or so was worth it though.
Put on a helmet and some pads and start doing some real shit.

i'm down for slave but i'm not down with the fact that their boards are made in mexico and they charge the same if not more than companies that make their boards in the US/canada.  same goes for deluxe.

I'd try one but I think I'd have to go to some random shop here to get one.

dlx isn't what it used to be and anyone that has skated their old boards will tell you the same.
i fail at agreeing with the slap collective.  if people want to turn a blind eye on shitty product thats cool, i'm just not that dude.

deluxe boards will never be bad. Ive been consistently riding them for atleast four years straight and never had a problem with shape or wood. every shape 8" and above is always pretty solid.

also I really liked the couple slave boards I had tried when they first came out. $lave has a good thing goin.

not down for mumford's zombie arms, but i like the chores and the rat race decks.

I wish krooked would do a series of decks based of their last catalog's layout,

Just picked up the "Bored" deck today. Lovin' it. Say what you will but I picked up the whole Black Metal Chick series too to throw on the wall. It's not too often I come across graphics that sick.

Other than Foundation, who still makes their boards here in the US?

a ton of companies do.  5boro, exp/dgk/org, zoo, shut, hopps, traffic, stereo, rasa, roger, affiliate, etc.  though i will say, some of those companies are offering pricepoint decks that are from mexico/china.
theres also the smaller local companies around here like coda, naysayer, substance, new breed, etc.  and who knows about all the small companies out of canada, plus most of the shop boards out there are made here.
