Williamsburg, Brooklyn
« on: August 10, 2010, 06:17:36 AM »
A friend of mine is going to New York this weekend with some non skate friends. They are staying in Williamsburg and he will have his board with him, but the only time I have ever been to nyc we stayed and skated solely in Manhattan. So I was wondering If anyone had any advice, mellow spots, gnarly spots or really anything in the area worth seeing/skating that ain't too much of a mission.

cheers.

Let him stop by KCDC, they'll sort him out. Also, there's a small skatepark near McCarren park and there's a cool DIY spot under the Brooklyn-Queens expressway.

McCarren Skatepark is at Lorimer and Bayard.

Under the BQE at Meeker and Union is the DIY spot. On that corner is Union Pool. They have a taco truck in the backyard.

KCDC is on N 11th btw Berry/Wythe. There's a ledge that sucks on the Wythe corner.

Reggaeton ledges at S 5th & Rodney. Good stuff.

Awful ledge spot at the corner of Meeker/McGuinness.

Eat pizza either at Motorino or Roberta's, but probably both.

2 up 2 down on Kent and S 6th.

Enid's is at Driggs and Manhattan Ave. Amarin Thai is across the street and is really really cheap and good.

Eat here: Arepa Arepa Havemeyer btw S 2nd/S 3rd.

G train to 21st St. Skate down Vernon til you hit the Bball courts. Ledges abound.

Obviously, L to Manhattan.

Cutty stuff all over the place. But more so in Bed Stuy and Prospect/Crown Heights. Brooklyn Museum/Library are good spots to meet up with some locals.

This is an introductory guide.

i saw my grandma bail off a 4 set once in my house and she even got up and came to red lobster after.
