burning dvd movies

been using this to convert files to dvd for a long time, awesome little program:

http://www.winavi.com/

when you convert a video to dvd it outputs the file in the disc format of one, with an AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folder.  i've been using nero to burn them, it's easy, you just drag the VIDEO_TS files into the setup in nero and it has always worked.

for some reason any video i burn just won't work anymore on my home dvd player.  when i put them in the computer they're still recognized for what they are, but they won't load.  been using the same brand of blank discs and the same program forever and suddenly the home player doesn't want to cooperate.  it works on the home player when i burn a straight .iso image though, which is odd.

anyone know a setting that may have gone out of wack here?  or another good program besides nero i could try out?

Sorry to bother you guys, this seems to be the only topici can find about DVD playback issues and conversion may I ask a question? That is recently I found this tutorial (http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/make-iso-from-dvd.html). According to it, as you can see,  I converted DVD to ISO. After the conversion was finished, I got the ISO file. But I do not know why the resolution of the output seems lower? I wonder whether .ISO is a compressed format compared with the DVD's DIVX codec, do you have any ideas or other video conversion program which can keep the original quality?
