Enduring Duro or Time for a Change
« on: September 26, 2010, 01:55:37 PM »
The past weekend I went skating both days, Saturday at the local skatepark on my regular set up and today exploring round town on my cruiser board. One board with small hard white wheels and another with big soft green wheels.

It got me to thinking although I have been skating for twenty or so years on mostly small hard white wheels it could be time for a change, but is there a middle gorund between the two wheel types ?

How soft is too soft? does colour effect the durometer of the wheel ? and how true are companies ratings ?

Oddly enough my second set of wheels ever where some OJ II's in 55m, back when Metiver (?) ran the wheel side of things at NHS.

There is also a slight problem in that I live in the UK and there isn't much in the way of  choice in OJ product, interested something still soft  around 52mm. Has anyone tried the Bones ATFs or Skatemental Shitty Wheels ?

I like the Spitfire Parkburners for a softer / grippier wheel.

The Bones ATF's are the perfect middle ground between hard and soft wheels, I think. They aren't super kushy and jelly-like but they still have that soft impact to them whenever you're skating.
