fixing a blown out toebox?

I have a pair of the Koston Dunks, which are really good shoes, but the stiching on the toe box is worn out leaving my toes to wiggle freely leaving the front of my ankle to get really sore after skating ( feels like a rolled ankle but I know its not)...this sounds dumb but its just hard to describe), anyone else have this issue? if so how did you fix it? (for instance making the toe box stiffer on the outside?)

The shoes are fine and I dont want to have to buy a new pair of shoes for this one problem, advice?

get some shoe goo or just buy a new pair of shoes. 
sucky worn out shoes doesn't make skateboarding fun.

i usually line the inside of the toe with left over grip tape and cover that with duct tape as to not chaff you toes. i do this on the inside because seeing tape on the outside of the shoe fucks with my head.
