Mike Carroll appreciation
« on: October 10, 2010, 08:42:09 PM »
I figured I'd start one considering I didn't see one here. I don't really need to explain why.
The 80's.....

Sept. 1990

1990/1991

1991/early 1992

(different music.....gotta love the WMG...so someone changed it) 1992

1993

1993/1994

1994(WMG jacked the audio again but the De La track is right under this)

1996

1999

2001

2007

I tried to get a decent timeline going but some stuff is missing on youtube and some classic photos I can't find....shit got taken down or whatever I don't know. Fuck it. It is what it is.....

Any trick you name, Mike probably does it best. No love for Yeah Right?

Chrome Ball has some Carroll gems up, but they're all too big to post.

Watching that makes me happy! This thread not being filled up with posts by now is making me lose faith with humanity - well, kind of. Anyways, this made my day. Motherfucker's still got it!

One of the best, if not the best, styles ever.

Questionable. How dope is skating to the Beasties while cementing the backwards cap/baggy pants in skate history.

Modus Operandi. THE line. And that backlip ender is pretty gnar for MC, brought the classic steez to the handrail domination of that era.

Fully Flared. As big of a fan I was of the dude I was even taken aback by how insane this part was. Props to killing it over 30.

All his other parts are fabulous as well (Yeah Right!, FTC come to mind) but those three seem to be his best.

Mike Carroll is amazing.
I think he was the first favorite skater.
I always liked his goldfish part a lot, which people haven't talked much about here. That last line with him skating around EMB with everybody following him and getting hyped is rad.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

His Goldfish part was sick, that video brings back some good memories....

Watched his Chocolate Tour part today for the first time in probably a year. Without a doubt my favorite 'short' part ever.

Street skating archetype.

Don't have much to add, just more random clips. Hands down favorite.

That back smith at 0:38 haunts my dreams.

Plus I once saw MC pull a full grown man from an 80 year old lady's womb, the guy had been stuck in there for 20 something years and shit. Everybody was like whoa. He licked his fingers and skated off into the sunset.
Catch that fade.
