Slam Terminology
« on: October 12, 2010, 01:19:44 AM »
From what I know a hot pocket is when one injures the front of their ankle due to impact and a scorpion is when someone lands on their chest and their legs fly up in the air behind them.  Does anyone know any others?

Just wondering after I had the misfortune of experiencing the dreaded "back leg not getting back on the board and having the knee scrape on the ground as a result" earlier today.

Thats generally known as the splits.

The phrase "eating shit" came from people slamming and sliding face first on the floor, but now most people use it as a different word for slam

"the drama queen" someone who bails/slams and rolls another 10 feet when not nesescary

I like the term Credit Card. Supposedly one guy in my town tried a hardflip and tore his sack. We still call him Tore Sack Huub, when he's not around.

Ah ok, I was thinking/hoping it had a more interesting sounding name. Either way it sucks. More so when extra grippy vulcanized midsoles prevent me from kicking away the board to escape it.

the yard sale.

someone slams and their shoes fall off. then the shoes are laid out next to the board as if they were for sale, works even better when said person is wearing a hat which also falls off.

I'd imagine it could happen the same way one could twank their wrist or dank their elbow.

Well, you are wrong. A hot pocket is when you roll your ankle forward.
A heel bruise that keeps coming back is just called a heel bruise. That's what heel bruises do.
