what they bout to call the album now? Cruel Autumn? But on the real tho GOOD Music is easily the best crew in the game right now. Only Kanye could have guys like Q-Tip & Common signed to the same label as Big Sean & 2 Chainz. That article was on point tho. Last year they had a similar one during the making of MBDTF which was fucking dope. Complex be on they shit.

good lookin on that GFID. Earlier today I sho was just talkin about how there should be a leak for it very soon.

That Kreayshawn shit was....I don't even know. Too many rappers nowadays getting the spotlight more for their charisma & marketable image as opposed to actual skill. Don't get me wrong, I value a strong mic presence as much as anybody but damn dog these niggas be out here with the most amateur ass hooks & one-liners. Do people seriously be that pressed to over-saturate their music that they just run with whatever first thing they right down? Like forreal, what happened to writing & rewriting your shit until it's as good as possible? I know I can't be the only one who still does that shit

kreayshawn doesn't even have mic presence. she only has a deal because of speak. but i agree with you on the oversaturation. lil wayne gets a pass because why the hell should he bother taking his time when his name being on a record makes it sell like crazy? but every rapper trying to break into the industry just puts out a bunch of "freestyles" and with really lazy/talentless singular syllabic rhyme schemes haha. it follows that trend of "not really trying" that is common in absolutely everything now. "imagine how good i'll be when i actually try at rapping on a real song of my own! just give me a record deal and you'll find out." lol

let's hear some of your shit skated00d.

let's hear some of your shit skated00d.

I've got a ton of links of my old tracks scattered throughtout SLAP so I won't post any of those in here but there's a Will Easley thread in the music section if you're curious. I do have 2 new lead singles ready for my upcoming mixtape I'm just waiting on my engineer who's out of town right now to record em.

I figure I'll give y'all some SLAP exclusive details on said singles. I'll be dropping them simultaneously and content-wise they're 2 totally different kinds of songs. The first is Just Do It which is like an epic, stadium status type anthem that sounds like the shit Kobe listened to before he dropped 81 on the Raptors. Really catchy & is sure to blow a few speakers. The second is Me & You Part 2 which is a sequel to one of the classic tracks off my first mixtape. Its basically a dialog-driven story narrative with no hook inspired by a few of my relationships within the past year or so. Old heads will appreciate the Sade sample that drives the beat.

As far as the mixtape/free album goes, William's World will drop on my birthday August 27th with me doing heavy promo throughout that entire month. It's real conceptual in a way as the whole thing plays out sorta like a movie. At first the beats are really soulful & instrument-based with easy-to-grasp concepts but by the end it sounds like some Sci-fi shit with really deep, introspective lyrical content. The picture in my avatar is the cover art, so you can kind of get an idea of the underlying theme for the whole album. Production credits include Cardo, Bravestarr, Cashous Clay, ID Labs, Sledgren, and others. I doubt there will be any guest features as I wanna make a point by doing it all by myself.

He got off on that shit! I could do without the guitar "solo" at the end but lyrically he couldn't have bodied that beat any harder. One of my favorite songs off the album.

I figured GFID would've had a much darker tone but I can appreciate the jazzy, classical production however his trap songs were kinda lackluster to me. Aside from 911 I didn't really like the other more aggresive tracks (Hold Me Back, So Sophisticated, etc). I'm surprised he didn't get another Lex Luger beat, especially after all the success of BMF & MC Hammer. Presidential just might be my favorite beat on the album although Amsterdam & Diced Pineapples are kinda wavy too

I feel you but really I think it's just mainstream rap. I think now more than ever it's easier for underground acts to get more exposure, and sonically the music is more diverse than it's ever been. There's so many different styles that weren't really as prominent as before, it's just that all these corporate execs wanna push the kind of artists/records they think will sell the most. even moreso than before due to the large rise in piracy. But yeah, jus about everything on the radio is cookie cutter "sell this to the impressionable kids" rap.

exactly. it's like every up and comer is on the same playing field as all the vets and more established artists. the internet has helped hip-hop more than any other genre in my opinion. and i agree with you 100% about how the sound of hip-hop has become so diverse nowadays. you have fresh ideas & subgenres like cloud rap, swag/weirdo shit, avant-hip-hop and producers who are incorporating electronic and experimental elements to their beats. the game is progressing so much right now and i'm all for it.

on to the new music.

Kookies - MF Doom

It's an oldie but one of my fave tracks of all time.

I was always a bigger fan of the just blaze version. Incredible when high. Plus just blaze's know-it-all smartass antics are priceless.

*jist blaze radio......for the bootleggers..-thank you* :D
