i was not giving you shit for having an impression of forrest based on what you have seen of him, i was "giving you shit" for your very assuming  statements about his family and neighborhood (not town, difference noted). i'm not defending what forrest says or does in any way. the way he conducts himself is not the way i would conduct myself, not by a long shot. but labeling him "stupid" does not really define his character, and labeling his family and surroundings as such by association is just presumptuous.
done with that on my end.

and i see that the episode is now up and ready...

Hahaha Forrest is consistently one upping himself verbally, it's classic. There are gonna be insane video gabs and gifs of him biting into that piece of chicken and I think that will easily hold people off for the next episode.

Someone needs to explain to Joe what "passive aggressive" means. Also, remind him that every time a white man says "you do you" an angel is sodomized in heaven...

Fair enough. But I honestly don't see it as too presumptuous to assume his environment is reflected in him. I think that's pretty much a given. I feel like the issue is really me not saying it in nice enough terms. But I don't really care much for being nice to that kind of people. People like him give the rest of us a bad name.

Holy fuck Kapp shut up already.

The only thing more awkward than Jake Phelps is Joe Brook trying to be Jake Phelps.  Though Mango should man up and film.

Tommy and Tim were irrelevant, that time could've been spent showing skating or the actual contestants.  I feel like there's probably so much entertaining interview and skate footy that won't see the light of day.

Forrest rules.

no.
you've obviously not traveled or taken any psychology at all...ever. peoples' environment is what shapes them, true, but the way that it's effects surface could be direct opposites and often are. go anywhere on earth and you'll see the same cross section of personalities as anywhere else. fact. plus, it's almost a cliche nowadays for the rich kids to act/dress broke and the broke kids being the flashiest. i mean antwuan and theotis are from the same background, so c'mon son. get outta here with that, "it's a given" shit. you know nothing about human development.

Quote
People like him give the rest of us a bad name.

us who? don't go trying to put yourself on the same level as the average slap poster on the sly. just lurk more, and next time think first dumbass.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now that that's said, Forrest killed it again. on and off the mic this time. i like how he actually rattled off every dope trick that went down before saying that joe gets the mvp for the photo. at least he's paying attention when he's not skating. that shit counts. the rest of them kinda voted on the buddy system. and did you see the little smile he let out at the end? i think that dude is probably just playing up his personality for the contest. i like him more now than ever. actually, the only thing that he's done so far that made me really be like, "that was fucked up" was the not thanking two dudes for loaning you a board after you broke them shits. that was hella weak, but all the shit talking and other verbal stuff, i think, is just funny as fuck. i get the impression he probably does too.

the part with mango's interview got me kinda stoked to see him step up. from what brook said, it sounds like he was actually ripping all day and got a lot of stuff, but wouldn't skate for the camera. i was under the impression that he just didn't get anything and that's why the footy was missing, this makes me interested in him again.

Forest finishing out the day with a bottle of wine that he opened with a drill and a screw, makes him the MVP of that day.

Mango is clearly the dumbest of all of them, but he's charming in that way. Forrest isn't a dummy in the traditional sense, though it seems like he might have aspergers or something with his horrible ability to deal with people around him.

I kind of like Forrest more after that episode. Is it odd that I have never seen nor thought of opening a wine bottle with a power drill? Its a pretty badass move, and clearly proof that the kid is resourceful at least. Also, his end of the day discussion was him mostly talking dudes up, talking about a lot of shit other people did and all that.

Aside from that it was nice to see Forrest turn off his asshole generator for  a minute.  And the wine bottle thing at the end was hilarious!!

everybody in his family and town are unintelligent? that's a pretty bold guesstimation to make.
[close]

Why? Intelligence is influenced tremendously by heredity and the environment where a kid grows up. Dumbasses don't just pop out of no where. People reflect their environments. Besides, I said most, immediate, and neighborhood, don't change the wording to make it sound more outlandish, it really isn't.

No, there are no innate qualities that make people stupid. You believing that however, does make you stupid.

Edit: These episodes just keep getting better.

Not that I want to side with that asshole at all, since I don't think Forrest actually is unintelligent, but what about downs syndrome or other forms of developmental disability? There definitely is innate intelligence, that is, the ability to learn quickly or not, though with extra work almost anybody can become very smart and well-read.

Of course those are biological factors. But they are biolological abnormalities and not actually from your heritage. When I hear people talk about heredity and intellegence there are usually linking it to race, which is bullshit. Even if they aren't talking about race it's still incorrect, you can't have "stupid gene" passed down to you.
