Skate parks besides Grayson (Grayson is dope) worth checking out that are semi close to Charlotte...

http://www.theboardroomskatepark.com/ Cornelius, NC

http://www.cinderskatepark.com/ Fort Mill, SC

http://www.ydgskatepark.com/ Graham, NC

also, Indian Land Skatepark (521) is kind of cool.

Good cheap food

My greyson experience was pretty awful.
they threatened to shut the WHOLE park down
for 30 minutes cause I wasn't wearing elbow pads.

Here's my guide to Charlotte
places to drink:

P-Stone (aka Philosophers Stone?)

Places to Eat:
The Penguin is pretty legendary (even if it just changed management recently)
It has bomb ass hamburgers for cheap
they serve beer too

Places to eat and drink:
Salvador Deli. That whole area around it is nice
there's plenty of places to drink and eat
Same thing with the whole area around the penguin too.
a block away from the penguin is The Common Market
The common Market is the shiznit of deli places

Don't forget to stop by Black Sheep skate shop too
I'll post more stuff as I remember
It's been awhile but I grew up around there
and it's been a year since I visited

one time I was in concorde with a friend who grew up there and we went to some diner/restaurant whose specialty drink had pickle juice in it.

whoa..didnt realize all these slap pals knew about charlotte. i work at black sheep full time, if youre looking for a shop or just wanna come say hi :)

as for skating, Grayson sucks, full pads and the $6 is just not worth the hassle. Theres a fun prefab park in Mooresville thats probably your best bet, its at exit 36 off I-77. Free and no rules.

as for bars and stuff, the Plaza midwood area is where all the skaters live/hang out. The best bar is "elizabeth billiards" (EBs)...4 free pool tables, darts, cheap beer. great little dive bar. its also like 300 yards from my house so it makes it that much better.

if anyone wants to hang out, skate or get drunk, hit me up. im off tuesdays, fridays, and every other saturday to go skating. and after 7 when its not freezing and dark.

i asked my girlfriend about this and she said the place is called 'whataburger' and that it's a drink that is a mixture of every soda and juice plus pickle juice.  :-\

i wish. the remaining part of them got torn down about 2 years ago. from the late 90s until then they were only about 18" tall, so you could ride on em and wallie the corners, but i heard they used to be 4' tall back in the 90s. jealous i missed out on it!

Duke power was so much fun. Pretty much always the first place to go when we would come down from Boone. There would be so many kids there and every singe one would be wearin dc's.  The front wall was the best and then go look at the huge Ben smith gap around the corner.

Yeah, we went to Blacksheep once and the guys hooked us up with a fucking list of directions to some really fun spots, first time meeting them too. That shop is sick as fuck.

They did the same for me when I visited 2 years ago. Definitely a really cool shop.

I just remembered another place to get drinks and kick it at

I love that place
