Road Trip Coast to Coast, help?
« on: December 22, 2010, 08:38:32 PM »
Well, it's been talked about for months now between me and my friends. We've decided to drive from Atlanta, GA to San Luis Obispo, CA in the beginning of the summer. We're taking two cars; one car to meet up with our friend in SLO, then drive two cars back to ATL. On the way there, we aren't going to stop for anything except to sleep. On the way back, we're going to take our time (aka skateboarding). Here's my questions to you guys:

- We want to stop by Las Vegas, Houston, and New Orleans for sure, but are there any cities (preferably on the southern route) that would be a great place to skate?

- Would anyone be available/interested in showing us around your city if we happen to cruise through your area?

- Has anyone done a cross country trip; if so, any necessities we might need?

Thanks.

I've taken the trip across country, but I did it from CT to Oakland. Our trip was on completely different roads. But I assume two things will remain the same. That is, the need for adderall and cigarettes. As for adderall, XRs are good because they last longer and only buy cigarettes in cartons. It took us 3.5 days to get to Oakland with no sightseeing. We stopped in Juliette, IL; Cheyenne Wyoming; Reno, NV and then Oakland.

I can't help you with skate spots in the south, unfortunately. But best of luck and remember, if you get a speeding ticket in a state, only pay it if you plan on ever going back to that state.

Hey guys, just an update.

We're stopping at these cities:

- San Diego
- Phoenix
- Flagstaff
- Albuquerque
- Dallas
- Austin
- Houston
- New Orleans

If anyone lives in any of these cities and would like to play tour guide for a day, we'd happily reimburse you with some beer! Thanks!

I can't help you, but I have to post because of this small world factor, I left SLO a week and a half ago, and about two weeks ago, I overheard your friend at the skatepark talking about going back to Georgia. Crazy.

Chances are that was Austin. Was it at Cayucos ramp? We're taking his car and all his stuff back to Georgia.

No, I went to Cayucos that week, but it was at the SLO park in Santa Rosa park.
