Been skating behind my building lately. It seems a lot of people have been moving lately. A lot of stuff to manual and bonk. I'm like the only one who enjoys skating in the cold.

I'm okay with it if its not windy. I hate getting those cold air coughs though.

Any-fuckin-ways, anybody know about any demos coming up this year? They always seem to slip past me, or I find out the day of.
Its called walking into a skateshop fatass. The only reason you don't know is because you barely skate, so you barely go to the shop to get new shit, so you barely find out about the demo before it happens.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

Cuz repeatedly going out of my way to find out nothing is so much easier than taking 10 seconds to post a question on here?

Might as well stop watching videos too, I'll just follow pros around to spots and watch their whole part get filmed.

There's only one reason the skateshop is out of your way.

Idk, you can't really blame anyone for not going to a skate shop for a while when we're coming out of one of the snowiest winters in years. With the price of gas these days, I wouldn't go to a skate shop just to find out about demos. Usually they're pretty good about putting stuff like that on their websites, but since I checked and I didn't see anything on Krush's (I wouldn't go there regardless) or Uprise's, I'm assuming nothing will be at Wilson or Krush for at least a month or even a couple. Then again, I could be wrong, I don't keep up with FA, Yeah!, or the other north side shops.

Demos in Chicago used to be more of a summer thing, but I hear you on that one.

it is gnarwhal, i was there about a week ago

best to park close and just hoof it (i usually just ride a bike there)

also the sidewalk gap (it's like an elevated sidewalk over another one into a street) at the corner of fulton market and may street got "capped" - metal objects in front of where you'd pop - but if you just gave it an extra push you could go right over the caps. weird. the ledges and everything else around that spot are still intact but the winter funk hasn't really washed off yet...still dirty and salty. but if you're down to skate in chicago you already know that.

^ Wow that's great, I'll try to. Monday isn't the best day for me though. Never been to the beerics, I've heard good things though. Sick that the proceeds are going to the cancer foundation.

Yeah, I was all excited to go to the premiere and then realized that I just have way too much school work to do. Shit sucks.

Kinda small, cozy I guess? Cool people there. I've never been so contact-high in my life.

That sidewalk gap at fulton market is definitely "skatestopped" - it's just someone who lives near there being an ass

they just glued some big stones right where you'd want to ride

that said you could STILL just pop over them with an extra push

seems like the weather has finally stabilized, maybe it will even dry out by this afternoon

I've skated the Beerics a bunch of times, it's a fun indoor ramp.  Takes a little getting used to.

I've got a clicker for this mini in the city, so I mostly skate there in the winter / rain.  Fun ramp.

Is this The Beerics?  I didn't think it was that wide.  Looks extra fun.

Yea that's not the beerics. The beerics has like a short side (maybe 4 feet) and the other side is really sharp and like 7 feet tall with a small quarter in the middle. Theres a steep bank with a parking block on the tall side too. Anyone ever skate the Pitbull warehouse. I've only been there once but they have a really cool mini ramp.

That's the Race Ramp, because it's in a giant garage off of Race Street.  Around Grand and Walcott.  Super fun ramp, lit, heated, stereo system.  There are I think like 15 people with clickers.  You gotta be with one.  I've taken a lot of people there.  I'm pretty sure I have some pics of the Beerics, let me find them.
