THE ZOO YORK POST: Chaz Ortiz in Chicago

Where is that rail at 1:36.  I feel like I've seen it before (in several vids and in passing by), but I can't place it.

I saw this public art sculpture by midway airport, looks totally skateable but the bust factor is probably really high since it's right by the airport, cops would probably just make up some crazy shit about us being skate terrorists

I saw your mom do a ollie to cooch drop straight down the big black pole, it was gnarly. she defiantly shut that shit down

i'm moving to chicago in february, which i know is an awesome time to do that because the weather is so great.  what's the vibe like for the 30+ crowd? (not chubby dad type shit, no offense to the chubby dad types.)

Imo, Chicago has a very good 30+ crowd.  Several older guys here still get at it pretty good, and everyone is cool.   I'm friends with most of them, I'm 36.

George W Collins High School at 1313 South Sacrament Blvd built some new ledges, and benches, they also have some wavy flatbars in front, I'm gonna try to go skate it before it gets too cold. Anyone else up for a sesh there this sunday? (bring wax, the ledges are totally virgin)

Well, idk I've never gotten in trouble skating it. However, I haven't even tried to skate it in like 5 years. If you're down, go for it. I mean technically you're not really allowed to skate any street spots.

Yup, only made a Slap account for the purpose of posting in his thread. I'm currently up in Evanston - anything over here to skate before I have to take the El to Wilson?

There is stuff around Northwestern University campus. There are bumps and ledges diagonally across from Gigio's pizza (if they are still around). A ledge down a 6 or 7 set and a decent small rail just south of the Davis/ Sherman intersection. Just push around the Davis station area basically.

*EDIT: Is Tom Thumb no longer around? I don’t know who works there nowadays but they would be the people ask about local spots. My info is dated for sure.

Most likely.  I think they are doing a premiere in the city.

Found it:
Two years in the making. A skateboard video about making skateboard videos. Premiering at 9PM December 10th, 2011 at the Beerics along with the "Chity" video.

Looks good. I haven't seen a proper Chi-town vid, other than the Uprise joints, since All We Got Is Us.

I'm no longer in Chicago, otherwise I'd defo go peep it at the premier.

Does an ollie/switch ollie count as a trick? It's fine if it doesn't, just trying to get this done as lazily as possible.

It doesn't seem that harsh. I can't remember what the Monroe gap is. Is that the flat street gap or is that on Jackson?
Anyway, if anyone has got some footage to share when this is all over I'd love to see it. Looks like fun.

180 everything except for the river ledge gap. I have no idea what would be easy there. Gap to tail or lip perhaps? I wouldn't even would to ollie that; all to easy to fuck yourself up at that spot.
