Dead Space 2
« on: January 06, 2011, 11:55:30 AM »
Why the FUCK isn't there a thread on this yet? It comes out January 25th.

- new guns

- new types of necromorphs

- a new game setting

- new abilities like being able to fly around freely in zero gravity

- new online play where teams of 4 face eachother. One plays humans who have to complete a set of objectives, the other plays a team of necromorphs who work to stop the humans.

GET SOME.

I was gong to write about how it would be another offline, 6-7 hour single player game for 60$. I didnt know about the online play though. I really liked the first game, one of my favourites of 2009.

6-7 hours? No way man, if it takes that short you're playing on easy difficulty or something.

I think there was 13 chapters in the first one, each taking like an hour to and hour and half the first time through. I'm pretty sure the second one will be even longer.

Pre-ordered the collector's edition because I apparently need a plasma cutter in my life.

The Collector's Edition is disappointing as fuck. At least I get to play the game this weekend.

I'll be honest here, I'm too scared to play these types of games. I dunno, I might pick up the first one to try it out.

What I do find extremely agreeable would be the fact that these games are in third person w/over the shoulder aiming. I never was too good at first person shooter type games, I'm too clumsy for that.

The plasma cutter replica is as cheap looking as it gets, one "litograph" with conceptual that's pretty lame and two downloadable add-ons. Oh, and a soundtrack cd. Should've looked at some reviews before buying the package.

Haha it's fuckin hard man. I think it's because i didn't upgrade my weapons enough through the campaign. I never even played the first Dead Space i fail.

Upgrades are super important, especially to upgrade your clip and damage. Also a true master of the game knows when to use his stasis and to take advantage of kinesis when appropriate.

My current situation does not provide ample opportunity for use of such techniques. Once you get there, you will understand.

I like the fact that it's more difficult than the first game. Playing through the first one 4-5 times was really helpful.

I take the being difficult part back even though I'm on the second to last chapter. Maybe I'll vent my frustration in here in a day or so.

This thread inspired me to check the title out, so I went to youtube in hopes of finding a short demo or something.

Instead, I watched the entire walkthrough.  Pretty epic game.  Huge waste of time on my part.
