Several people have confirmed that Marc Echo Enterprises (MEE) is closing up Zoo York and its commitment to skateboarding. The team, the TM and staff have been given pink slips. WTF?

maybe thats why donny barley made the switch back to element, but whats gonna happen to the riders? westgate? taylor? etc...?

It makes sense. There is only four people listed on the Zoo site as pros and 2 under the Masters division. Marc Ecko though is a punk for picking up something he couldn't handle. He was pretty much the downfall of Zoo anyways and now he is going to close his own company.

But wow.....Zered, Westgate and Eli all can potentially get on different teams. Hope Zered gets on Krooked. Westgate seems like the guy with the most potential to go anywhere. I could even see him going on Element or even the opposite of that like Baker.

i can see westgate on toy. zered and eli deserve sick sponsors too. If this is all true, I predict the downfall of zoo being also the official end of some of the older dudes on that company's careers.

Not that any of this kind of bullshit means much to me either way, but the fact that Mark Echo had decided that Zoo York is no longer fit to exist--and more importantly, has the power to make it go bye bye--says quite a bit about the current state of affairs in the world of skateboarding.

Mark Echo is easily one of the coolest judges--ever--to be on the American version of Iron Chef..."confirmed."

Can't wait to hear that Jake Burton no longer thinks Alien Workshop is fit to continue.

Still, Westgate's recent shoe part knocked me on my ass, and I hope that kid does end up on a legit, skater-owned company that will both benefit from his gnarliness, and will take care of him only the way a skater-owned company can. Same with Zered...

I'm assuming that what was meant is the skate division of Zoo, the apparel and shit is bigger than Element around here they sell their shit in JC Penny and a bunch of other big box brands so i know that they're making money on that end.

Does Marc Echo even own Echo Enterprises or whatever anymore? Isn't it owned by some Japanese corporation now?
He probably has little to no say in what goes on with any of his companies anymore , i think he's just designer, brand manger, share holder now.

Westgate, Eli, and Bassett definitely deserve proper board sponsors. It would be cool to see Bassett go to Expedition, and Westgate could really go anywhere right now I think. I see him fitting in on pretty much any team out there.
