night skating apreciation
« on: February 25, 2011, 07:31:08 PM »
Me and my friend just skated tonight and it was by far one of the funnest days in a while. Nothin beats cruisin through the street in 30 degree weather

For sure man.  You got fewer people out, longer time at spots, and the not-giving-a-shit factor is very high!

when i was much younger I used to skate a curb under a very dim streetlight in front of my house. it really was too dark to do anything great but i was still out there trying. ahhhhh good times.

The daytime is too unbearable in the summertime so all I do is skate at night during May through August.

I love cruising dimly lit streets.  Bust factor on spots is also much lower.

i love skating at night, kinda sucks tho that most of thge surrounding areas here are far to dodgy to hit up at night
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

had my first night sesh in ages the other day, luckily enough the spot was under a street lamp so i could see what was going on, unluckily enough the spot is right next to a motorway and my mates board shot away and got hugely broken by a truck. was good fun though, only thing i dont like about night skating (other than the confusing shadows) is theres far more people lurking who just wanna jack your wallet/ipod/phone etc

i don't know about you guys, but unless there's good lighting at the spot or my friend brings his shop lights I'm totally worthless night skating. Something about dim streetlights throws off my depth perception just enough to fuck things up. It's gotten a bit better since I got my glasses prescription updated but still no bueno. But if the streetlights are bright enough or there are halogen lights, night skating is the shit.
Look I'm not selling anything that doesn't have my jizz on it. I don't care how much is offered.

my favorite time to skate, especially when you gotta filmer who insists on carrying his generator everywhere.

Mmm night seshes. Nothin like the suprised feeling of having the board pop you in the face because you couldn't see shit. I did once have a cop give me a free slurpee coupon to 7-11 during a night session though. I feel like that kinda shit wouldn't go down in daylight for some reason.

Billions of people on this planet but if I go outside past 11 I will be the only person outside.
No ones gonna kick me out of a spot.
I get to skate every spot, cruise the main road and skate from one side of town to the other in minutes.
Its so awesome especially living on a river and having a view of the sky.
