I'm heading out to Canada in 2 weeks, and Im stopping with friends in Waterloo.
They dont skate, so cant really help me out with spots etc... So I was hoping some of you guys might be able to help.

They live only about an hour from Toronto, so are there any must-see spots/parks I should go to in Toronto? I'd also like to visit some of the local S.O.S's too, if you have any advice on the best shops to go to?
Also, if anyone knows about spots in/around waterloo, that would be a huge help.

Massive thanks in advance.

Kitchener actually has some spots, but im sure professional got you sorted on those. If its only a few days, then skating around downtown Toronto should keep you busy enough

I guess Eaton Center will probably get you covered.. there's a shit load of stores inside and around the whole place (including Dundas-Yonge Square).

A few stops in mind are probably Soundscapes (record store), So Hip it Hurts (skateboarding shop).... oh and never forget the famous Toronto Condom Shack.

If you were coming to the Hammer I can probably help you out a bit more haha.

Thanks for the hints. I'll be staying real close to Eaton Centre so that's on the schedule for sure. Also Queen street seems to be the place to go for all thing hip and hurting.

not to trash you too much but all of those recommendations are absolutely terrible.

eaton center is for joeys. if you're into hitting armani exchange and roots all in the same mall then sure it's going to be awesome for you. also i don't know who goes to malls on a vacation besides unintelligent women and danny bonaduce.

i know nothing about record stores simply because i don't need to impress anyone with a vinyl collection but i know it's worth wandering around in kensington market for them... also worth the trip to kensington for hilarious finds, authentic mexican food (pretty sure it's still open), and people watching. also it's right by sneaky dees, which is a must hit restaurant for their nachos alone.

condom shack is for people who draw dicks on the wall. and seeing as you're comfortable enough with going on a vacation with your girlfriend i'm sure you don't use them anyways.

i don't have a problem with so hip but the staff there is really confused and they like listening to korn and jack johnson. so if you're down to hang out with people who wear beanies on a patio in the summer and can talk about the latest escapades at dance cave then hit it up. sure they got a lot of stuff if you're into shake junt and burton or you could hit up baitshop that carries a better selection of brands and has an incredible mini ramp in it.

as for night life it really depends on what you're into and if you need any help deciding that shoot me a pm.

I'm definitely going to hit the mall. I'm coming from Europe with a wad of strong euros in my pocket and all the North American brands are twice the price here anyways.

But we're going to be there for 11 days so I'm just trying to find all kinds of stuff to do. We haven't made very much plans yet. Mainly I'm just stoked for all the food I'm going to find. Like mexican food in any shape or form is pretty much nonexistent here. And crab.

Thanks for the offer on the nightlife advice. I'll hit you up if needed. Usually on city vacations I just walk around all day drinking beers and am dead tired by 9 pm.

Any other recommendations for skate shops?  I'm still getting acquainted so I haven't been to any yet, but I've been past a few.  Hogtown?  Adrift?

Na, fuck all those. Go to Blue Tile Lounge on College St. It's really close to College+Bathurst.

Check the site for their hours, http://www.bluetilelounge.ca .

I will be in Toronto on the 25 till the end of the month. I would really like to skate the Molson Ledge. Anyone know where that is at?

I don't think a subway runs that far but TTC busses definitely do.
