Game of Thrones
« on: June 13, 2011, 12:58:24 PM »
Is anyone else here into it? For me, it's the best show on tv right now. I haven't read any of the books, but I'm going to after the season ends. I'm completely hooked in.

Next week is the last episode of the season. It's been picked up for season two. I'm just hoping HBO doesn't fuck me again and cancel it before the show has finished playing out.... (Carnival, Deadwood, Rome)

Last night's episode(#9) was fucked.

Although I knew it was going to happen... I pretty much had the same reaction

The part where they crown the one guy is effed up though.

Very rad show, Sean Bean kills it, and the supporting cast too, the Imp

I fucking hate the Lannisters (sp?) pieces of shit.

Im only on episode 5, Ive heard a lot of reaction to last nights episode so I want to catch up quick.

I am interested to see where next week's episode leaves the season. I thought they would drag out last night's ending until next week. It seemed like a season ender.

*edit: I was pissed when HBO cancelled Deadwood as well.

I was so hyped for the season. And the first episode hit super hard.

I've been watching them all, but I find that I didn't get as into it as I wanted to.

What happens in episode 9? does that blonde chick hatch a dragon?

I'm downloading now.

Tyrion Lannister

This guy is the highlight of every show. Deserves an Emmy for sure.

My wife ran to bathroom gagging because of this scene.

Pretty good show , and it seems a second season is coming .  But I started watching it too soon , now I will have to wait weeks and weeks for each episode . Instead of watching both season in a week or so

i was instantly hooked after watching episode 7 at my buddys one night. got caught up in like two weeks, but i already knew he would die. they gotta get more shit popping, and blood boiling. i want to see how they incorporate the rest of the factions when its like all out war, like 2 hour episodes or some shit?

I read the series after watching the premiere, and Ned getting killed is just the beginning of the Starks getting fucked over again and again. This season's finale should be solid though, considering the ending of the first book.

Question for someone who has read the books:

Does the blonde chick hatch a dragon?

I've been predicting that all season.

SPOILER

yes.  they are my favorite books actually.   the third book is one of the best books i ever read.

she sacrifices that  witch lady in a blood for blood thing and she actually hatches 3 of them.

i am happy that they are not changing from the books to make the show more appealing (such as killing ned).   so many people get murked, even prominent characters.

Siiiiiiick, but I'm going to be wary of your posts in this thread if you're going to be dropping spoilers like that.

In a similar nerdy book vein of threadliness, anyone else read Wheel of Time?

Yeah, there are so many books that have been published so slowly I've been reading them my whole life, Robert Jordan actually died a couple years ago, but the new guy who got selected to finish up the series is doing a great job so far.

I love that this show makes me angry. Seeing prominent characters getting killed off definitely makes things a lot less boring though. I hope to see more of Jon Snow, hes definitely one of my favorite characters on the show with Ned gone. It will be a joyous day when someone takes out joffrey; good god he the worst. Also I can't wait till the White Walkers start fucking shit up.

SEAN BEAN is Ned Stark in real life!

Game of Thrones Actor Stabbed While Defending Woman
BY TIM NUDD

Thursday June 16, 2011 06:30 PM EDT
Sean Bean gets into plenty of skirmishes on Game of Thrones, but the actor shed some real blood Sunday while defending a Playboy model in a bar against a stranger who reportedly made lewd comments toward her.

Bean, 52, was attacked outside a London bar with what appeared to be broken glass after objecting to comments about April Summers, the Telegraph reports.

The actor reportedly suffered a cut to his arm and bruising to his face.

Bean returned to the bar and was treated with first aid. He then ordered another drink, according to the report.

Police were called the scene, but no arrests were made. Bean's daughter Molly told the Telegraph this week, "He's doing fine. We don't know if there will be any lasting injury."

I was so bummed/stoked when arya's dancing coach went out the way he did, stoked because that's exactly how the character had to die, bummed because hes gone. *tear.

Yea the direction her character heads in is pretty kick-ass. With where the fourth book left off, I am very interested to see how she turns out in Dance With Dragons (which hopefully releases in July).

And Tyrion is fucking awesome throughout the entire series thus far, so glad Peter Dinklage is doing that character justice.

reading the second book right now. definetly a different kind of a book - nobody is safe, they can all die in instant (not much hero bullocks here)
