Hensley (I believe) in end of first Black Label video, not to mention The One he did in the first place.

Been getting super into Buddhism and Buddhist thoughts and ways of living. I want to join the monastery(?) thats in my city but leaving life behind including skateboarding is a massive decision and would be pretty hard to commit too.

If you're going to join a monastery, go Catholic, move to Belgium and make/drink beer all day.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

After getting a free, complimentary haircut from a stylist-in-training at a Supercuts, how much is the tip supposed to be?
I gave a couple bucks.  Should I have tipped more?
I mean, how can you give 20% of zero?

Or go full person and join the amish? Is that even possible? I'd go for that if I lived in the States.

Is 15 minutes of waiting on the phone too much time spent to give it up?

Nah, more than that. If you're getting hooked up, you gotta hook them up. Give them like 50%. You're getting a helluva deal, the least you can do is share in that.

...unless the haircut was shitty or took three hours. Then something like 20-30% is probably fine. Unless they were super nice.

The Amish are actually pretty rad. Aside from being nice to a fault, and the hardest workers, their philosophy on life is pretty cool, too. They aren't the Luddites people make them out to be; they don't embrace technology for its own sake, but they don't shun it either. They embrace technology only if it enriches their community. So they won't have personal telephones, as they're alienating (think about it, it's true); but they'll have a phone booth in their town, so their businesses can contact clients/vendors. And they're sure as shit not out there proselytizing like other religions, they keep to themselves about that.

Why don't skaters make some sort of rubber cushioning that could go around the edges of a flash, so when your board shoots out into it and it falls over it doesn't get busted?

I made a thread on skate perception proposing a similar protection solution, but experienced photogs brushed the idea aside, because it happens very rarely and the bulbs are not that expensive

Why do people make it impossible to hang out? I have one person that follows through with plans. Everyone else is "busy".

Some are legitimately busy. Some are hiding their social anxiety. Fuck it, roll solo.

it's baby skunk season again.  i find it interesting how young skunks are when they set out on their own, into the big bad world.

it takes humans 18 years (or more) to leave the nest.  skunks, as soon as they can walk it seems, venture out (despite dangers like cars, dogs, coyotes, humans etc...).   it's kind of rad

keep your place minimal, don't bring too much furniture/bullshit in. makes it easier to orchestrate the room to your liking and makes cleaning so much easier and faster.

A clean room is pretty key for mental health, for a lot of people at least. I know dudes who are stoked to live in their own filth so whatever floats your boat.
