trends in skateboarding you ARE tired off
« on: July 24, 2011, 03:20:02 PM »
how trendy skateboarding has become. i'm really tired of that.

unfortunately due to injuries and surgery i have kind of fallen out of the skate culture for the past 2 years so i want to hear other's opinions.

oh, and celebrities wearing supras. really pisses me off for some reason.

beanies so far back on your head, you might as well not wear one

diamond t-shirts

rap in video parts
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

"close footing"

when dudes land a trick, then jump and land w/ their feet close together. or just ride around the spot/park w/ their feet close together. so dainty and fairyish and contrived. its a hipster-skater thing. wack.

I'm sure when people do a little jump after landing a trick is to change their foot positioning cause they landed in a uncomfortable position if that makes any sense.

I don't know what that other part is about.
I dont recall ever putting on anything Southpole in my life.

no way, man. it's a trend. esp in brooklyn, amongst the hipster skaters. not coincidental, either. these dudes are conscious of it, hence the use of "contrived" in my previous post.

Battle Commanders and BATB.

And yet Hip Hop History is the coolest thing I've seen in forever.
Like Daewon said: if skateboarding is a ten story building, Rodney is on eleventh floor.

i feel like i just see tons of the same shit from everyone. Not to say that there's a lack of creativity, but for the most part a lot of the stuff that comes out seems to just blur together.

That's funny, he wasn't an asshole at all when I met him. I've never heard of him being one either, and even if he was I still wouldn't care.

hip hop and rap in vids. I always turn the sound off

the word contrived used to describe style or tricks or whatever

the word unecessary used to describe tech tricks

the term circus tricks

the term hipster being applied to every freaking thing

people so concerned with what trends people are following and making sure they dont follow them cause they wanna remain "core" or whatever

the term core

that tight chino thing (nothing at all wrong with tight chinos but the kids i see do this usually wear those pants) with the quick pushes and putting feet close together really is the fucking worst.  skateordie really hit the nail on the head with that one.      those kids usually are also trying to shoot on actual film cameras and never know what they are doing.   actually they aren't even usually kids, usually like 19-23 and think they are god's gift to just about everything.   i prefer the thugged out dudes,   at least they aren't pretentious.

1.) 8mm effects and Folk music its used WAY too much...it's in just about every local video, but then again not everything can be happy medium.
2.) Frontside Lipslides on Ledges
3.) DigiCam/Cell Phone Montages
4.) Bringing back old companies instead of making new ones
5.) uhhh get back to me

Out of all the words in the title why was the "are" that stressed?  Trends in skateboarding you WILL BE tired of?  Oh, and I'm sick of am-showcase videos.  And people who say Austyn Gillete is really good looking.
Would you ever let a chick piss on you? I would do it in a fuckin' heartbeat.
